#Oilers d’Edmonton #Oilers #LNH

  1. We opened the season with a longer losing streak than we did last season but we'll also be going into November with more wins than we did last season.

  2. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. My comments and observations at the end.

Surgery still postponed so here are some stats. Again, I can't watch the games but I can listen to them and do the summary stats.

Oilers seemed to have this all the way through though no scoring in the 1st period. Two goals in both the second and 3rd by the Oil give us our first Stuart Skinner shutout of the season. Oilers PP got 1 of 2 and the PK was perfect not letting in any (Duh, shutout). Oilers took no penalties until LATE in the 3rd when Nurse decides to get into a fight with an unsportsmanlike conduct add on (so man short for 2 minutes) and then Connor decides it's okay to slash someone with 1:11 remaining just to make it entertaining (for those that missed it this was called SARCASM). Both were STUPID penalties (and saying that about Connor McDavid hurts, Nurse, no, that happens a lot but McDavid doesn't tend to take foolish penalties with under 2 minutes to play and you have a shutout.

The boys pulled through. Arvidsson had 3 assists. Leon, Bouch, Nuge, and Ekholm (who got the PP goal (and an assist from the Nuge goal)) were your scorers.

This was the night where Dr. Randy Gregg and Craig MacTavish joined the Oilers Hall of Fame as it's newest inductee's. Many legacy stars were present for the ceremony. Oilers seem to come up big on these nights.

So Hyman got a point. Nuge scored. Arvidsson got 3 primary assists. Both Ekholm and Bouch scored as did Leon and Podkolzin got an assist. This on a night when the Penguins were not using their primary goalie (who is having issues and was sent back to Pittsburgh) and there were other issues on the night. The Bison King made his return (and got at least one blocked shot that I heard). We won, 2 points. Skinner shutout (which helps a LOT with the goals against). Take care all.

  3. Being at the game as an Oilers/Pens fan was a blast! Kind of sad that the Pens didn’t get on the score sheet, but happy for Stu.

  4. If only the Oilers can play the flyers, predators and the pens all season. But seriously, the Oilers looked really hungry for that win.
