Big fan of coffee here: grind beans with a burr every day, drip and French press based on our mood, and we have a cheap DeLonghi espresso machine that is excellent.
Bought a $400 Nespresso machine to have at work off eBay for $55 (open box still wrapped in plastic) and it is a damn good little machine. Heats up in about 5 seconds and the cup is ready in about another 5 seconds. It’s not as good as the fresh-packed pull at home but I am very impressed. Peets 11 pods are where it’s at.
does anyone know where i can find basic stats for the TC prospect tournament? like ice time, G/A, etc.? i think i saw somebody post a link on Twitter yesterday but i can’t find it anymore (or maybe i misread and it was for another prospect tournament, no clue)

To all the Wings fans, welcome back to the excitement of hockey! There is a lot to be hopeful with. The prospects, and it isn’t even all of them, look remarkable. There is a nice blend of skill, speed, size and tenacity.
A new Wings team and a new coach are something to look forward to.

At the prospect game yesterday all of the front office was sitting on a high rise to the left. I saw horcoff sit down and I didn’t think anything off it then I saw kronwall walk in, then lidstrom sat down, and finally in the second period yzerman sat next to lidstrom. Safe to say I was like fanboying out in my seat 30 feet away from them.
Didn’t ESPN+ say they were broadcasting the SHL season this year? Can’t find anything even related to SHL on their app.
It seems that the playoffs last year weren’t a one-off for Wallinder. He scored while also leading the team with 22:38 TOI in a 5-4 win. At this point last year he was getting 2-7 minutes a night. Now he seems to be their #1 defenseman. Really awesome to see.

Some articles on Piercey’s 4 goal effort yesterday noted that no hats were thrown on the ice. I’m not sure what these writers expected, there’s netting all around the crowd that goes quite high. I saw some considering throwing their hats but realizing that it’d just bounce back somewhere into the crowd.
I think this upcoming season should be really fun. My two favourite teams are the Wings with the Flames as my second so obviously there’s a lot to look forward to with each.
Almost more excited for the Flames though tbh, also partly for us because Weegar is out of the east and from what I remember he has been a pain in the ass against the Wings the last couple seasons.
Its always awkward when I see an NHL player in a polo because they always look like just some guy. Like, they are the top of their athletic class, but the muscles they need arent the glamorous muscles (arms, shoulders, etc) and it isnt a sport that rewards bulk either (think NFL players). Underneath? Shredded. Below the waist? bulging.
They’re like « Just some guy » torso on top of sumo wrestler legs. Always weirds me out. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
