There are better places for a team to go. That said it’s a better location than Tempe, AZ or Sunrise, FL.

I would love to have the sweaters back in the league and that logo is one of the best. But the market is split between NY and BOS. I don’t think the attendance would be there except for when the Rangers or Bruins were in town.
The idea that teams can be relocated because rich owners don’t get the deals they want from a city is horrible. I really can’t believe people just brush it off like it’s no big deal. I’ve seen more people angry at sponsors on jerseys than an entire team relocating. This is the problem with closed franchise sports leagues
No. Sorry. Hartford only has a population of about 122,000 people. My hometown, Grand Rapids, MI, has a population of 199,000 people, and we only have a AHL minor league affiliate. Hartford simply isn’t big enough to support an NHL team. None of the current cities that host an NHL team have a population under 1.1 million…(the major metropolitan area, even though the Florida Panthers technically play in Sunrise, Florida, it’s part of the Fort Lauderdale/Miami metro area.)

Hartford is not a very big city. Houston likely would have been the 4th WHA team to go to the NHL if they did not fold the year before.
Seems okay for the Jets and Minnie. Except is there actually that much top tier talent to go around and keep expanding?
I feel like bringing back an old team must go to Quebec. Other wise, keep rolling in new cities
I hope they did but with arena issues, top guys at the HQs turn heads as other cities are ready.

Wishful thinking, but no. Hartford’s economic climate is not favorable to host an NHL team. Connecticut doesn’t even have enough money to renovate XL Center. Been an issue for YEARS.

From what I understand most people in Connecticut are fans of the New York teams and maybe a few of them are Boston fans. So support is an issue but also where would they play? Wasn’t one of the reasons they moved to Carolina was they needed a new arena?

They have nowhere close to what’s needed to run functions for an NHL team. Hartford spent a crap ton of money years ago on a minor league baseball stadium and really doubt any funding would make a hockey team happen unfortunately.

No, the NHL needs more exposure in the US to increase their fan base and generate more revenue. Preferably in an environment with:
1) large population
2) no NHL presence already
3) capability to support a team from a stadium standpoint and have fans enough.
4) preferably an expanding city since people from outside are moving in.
My vote: Houston
I really wish, I live right outside Hartford and would go to as many games as possible. People would love it, but we’re just not a big enough market. Most people can get to Bruins, Rangers, Devils, or Islanders games relatively easily if they want too. I would love it so damn much, but it’s not happening.
