So they traded us their captain, and got their future captain in the meantime. Good for them.

We officially lost the trade. They not only beat us in the playoffs after the trade, but they also got their new captain out of it. While I’ll always be thankful for everything Pacioretty brought to this team, the transaction for him will be hated by me forever.

If you watched Montreal play, there is no way you make this trade. Patches has and always will be patches, soft as butter, unreliable in big games, and a defensive liability. Great shot and can fill net the net on weak goalies but that’s it, that’s what they traded for. The guy crying to the Montreal media saying if I’m not the captain, I’m not playing here, and then roasts Vegas after we let him go for free calling it a country club, as if that’s a bad thing. He had more chances at the cup in his little time in Vegas than he did his whole time in Montreal yet still calls the place a country club in a bad way. Vegas got away with trading brannstrom and he has not panned out so they rolled the dice on Suzuki. it was a gamble that did not work out for us. It happens ok whatever. Montreal still sucks and if 60 point -30 players are your captain then ok great and they still suck. I’ll say it all year long, we may be the only team that got better by trading away our top goal scorer because it’s the little things that matter and patches has never done the little things.

Let’s not get into yet another stupid argument over this fucking trade. Suzuki looked like an AHL player against tampa in the final. Dude hasn’t proven much yet and according to dom from the athletic, who I think people overrate, even has said suzuki is on one of the worst contracts in the entire league. Just saying…

Hey, Habs fan here. In 2009 Montreal traded the future NYR captain, Ryan McDonagh, for Scott Gomez….

Always remember Montreal wanted Cody Glass. We insisted on keeping Glass and trading Suzuki, which required VGK to throw in an additional draft pick to sweeten the deal.

There is no scenario where this trade can be seen as a victory for VGK. Not short-term, not long-term. This was a bad move by our front office.

Some of y’all need to learn when to let things go. We brought patches on because he was a nhl ready scorer and he put up good #s while he was here. Sadly our complete offense failures in the playoffs were not able to be blamed on any one player. The Habs paid Suzuki big money last year and he scored 1 more goal than patches with twice the games played. He’s good, but some of you act like we gave up McDavid.

The first VGK draft pick in history to be named captain

This sub is full of depressing losers, Jesus. And this is coming from a suicide survivor who spent a bunch of time homeless as a result. There are frankly too many people who here gloat in their own misery and it’s sad. Move on with your lives.

A younger player involved in a trade panned out. What a shocker he’s currently a hotter commodity than the guy who is now 33. That’s what trying to acquire the final pieces you think are going to push your club over the hill when you just made a Stanley Cup Finals looks like 5 years after the trade happened.
