I guess three players in the NHL’s top 100 (albeit lowly rated by The Athletic staff) is fairly average for a 32 team league. Hopefully, some of our players will use this as fuel this season and have a career year.

Connor and Scheifele both too low. Not sure exactly how this list is determined but every time I see an athletic article mentioning the jets it seems more than a few people there that despise the Jets for some reason.

Scheifele definitely seems low. Ehlers and Connor seem low until you realize who all is in their tier. There’s just so many elite players in this league it’s crazy

I know it’s our thing to get pissy at lists and claim small market bias or whatever. But like look at the forwards ranked ahead of Connor, how many of them is he that much better than. especially when it comes to defensively, which he offers next to nothing (at least he doesn’t take penalties).
So I mean we can whine that the athletic is biased against the Jets, but aren’t we also extremely biased for the Jets? It’s very easy to say « oh he should be ranked higher! » Okay great, now name all the forwards that he’s better than who’s spot he should take.

Like, the team missed the playoffs last year and the list has Connor 44, Ehlers 46 and Schiefele 92. Both Connor and Schiefele give up as much as they produce too.
