Sabres of today are an embarrassment. No playoffs in over a decade. Got into a medical dispute with their star number one pick and franchise player Jack Eichel. Then they traded him to a team that allowed him to get his cervical artificial disc. They are in an abyss. Losing every year. Not doing anything with their high draft picks. The glory days of the 70s, 80s, and 90s are long gone. This is the millennium of misery. Now the team is in a fog of despair and no one can say if, or when, it will ever clear. Maybe never again.

Hard to believe within time the Sabres first home will be gone. The Aud was an ice palace
Gilbert Perreault is awesome! He's my favorite Sabres alumni person.
You've got that right.
@Hope2009pic It was the first-ever Sabres NHL game.
The first of many more to come for Perrault.
I have his home- ice buffalo sabres jersey estimated around over $10,000!!
go habs go
The Sabres 1st home win came on 10/23/1970 vs. the Detroit Red Wings.
Perreault scores his first NHL goal on Owen Sound native, Les Binkley in the Penguin's net.
They used to say…"Only the Lord saves more than Les Binkley"…
When you're an expansion team and you're only giving up 3.5 goals per game it's a good sign. That was the early 70's Sabres.
Début des sarbres de buffalo en 1970-71
Ahh… the glory years of hockey.
I went to this game expecting to see the Pens blow out the Sabres. Didn't happen. Roger Crozier stoned them and was the real star of the game.
Clarence Campbell, later on found to be corrupt with attorney eagleston.
Watching this in July 2021…Richard Martin, Rene Robert rest in peace
