  1. Columbus are gonna be such a fun team to watch next season I think, really love their top lines and main core of players. Got a lot of faith in Sillinger to develop to another level over the next couple szns as well. Great breakdown as always!

  2. I really don’t like the Gudbranson signing 1) because it’s an overpayment and 2) forced them to cap dump their best winger Bjorkstrand (apart from Gaudreau)

  3. Bit surprised you don't find Gavrikov to be an interesting part of their defense. He has been very good and should be receiving a fairly rich extension for his play, his leadership and his ability mentor guys like Marchenko, Chinkahov, Voronkov and Tarasov as they earn spots on the team from this year onward. Bean is also not very promising at this point. He was horrid last year and he's already 24. Andrew Peeke by comparison was in near the same situation in terms of experience and made significant strides in his develoment last year at the same age.

As for forwards, Marchenko is one who should absolutely be getting more heat that he has received so far. He should be performing at a level that has him at the top end of team scoring this year with how much success he has had in the KHL and he's already going to be very experienced on NHL sized ice since his home rink in St Petersburg is also NHL sized.

  4. The center between Gaudreau and Laine this year is almost certainly Boone Jenner. I think it's a deceptively good fit on paper. The center between Gaudreau and Laine doesn't need to be a playdriver, or a sniper; he needs to win faceoffs, forecheck, hit people, and park himself in the opposing crease to screen and bang in garbage. That's Jenner's game to a T.

Kekalainen is also very, very high on Kirill Marchenko. We shall see…

  5. Boone Jenner just paced for over 30 goals and 60 points pre Johnny. Hes a center who does the dirty work Gaudreau and Laine need. Roslovic is a better individual offensive player but with the turnovers its better to have a guy like Boone and leave the puck carrying to Gaudreau.
Its a pretty good line on paper. Playmaker who has puck carrying ability desperately needed on a line with Laine, a physical center that goes to the dirty area's and great in front of the net and a sniper with one of the most deadly shots in the league

  6. I think Ryan Whitney said it well "All props to Lindholm and Tkatchuk, but they aren't no Patrik Laine. Just dish as much as possible to Laine and it'll be in the net".

  7. Thank you for making this video. Not very many people make videos for our team it's nice to see! And honestly sillinger remindes me of a young crosby!

  8. Great video! You definitely did your research. I think it’s also important to mention prospects like Daniil Tarasov and Kirill Marchenko who will be joining the team this year. I think he’ll have an immediate impact on this team. The only thing I disagree with you on is you saying Columbus probably won’t be competitive for the next few years. I think you could argue Columbus was competitive last year up until mid March as they were around 6 or 8 points out of a playoff spot for a while until they just completely fell off and they only got better in the off season. I’m not saying they’ll make the playoffs this year but I think they’ll be competitive and can see them getting the second wild card spot or being the last team eliminated from playoff contention.

  9. I can see our captain getting on that 1c position, just seems like it would make a nice balance and would just work really well together, who knows tho.

  10. cole sillinger could end up being a good one. as a cbj fan i dont expect a ton this year, but in 2-3 years im very excited for this team

  11. What would make this even more exciting in my opinion is if somehow the jackets end up with Bedard will it happen probably not but still that option is on the table. If it does then holy shit problem would be an understatement for this team.

  12. Our success this year depends on how Elvis plays. If he plays at an NHL average level we should be able to sneak into the playoffs
