1. Not having point in the post season hurt their offense bad. And they still rolled teams leading up to Colorado. Now with nick paul and hagel having more time to get more chemistry in the RS.. they’re just gonna continue to be a good team. We’ll see how losing ryan M and rutta changed their defense. Meyers may end up being a great offensive defenseman.. he has a nice shot. Tampa always helps their guys reach their full potential. Cant wait for next season.

  2. Point moves back to the 1C imo, no reason to change. Keep Killorn-Cirelli-Stamkos. Either Hagel or namestikov play LW1. Paul and Colton on the third. Perry maroon belle. Stay on the 4th. For the last forward spot you bring up Barre boulet or Cole koepo

  3. I think Tampa will be just fine they didn’t lose any of their main core of players especially once point is healthy

  4. Hey Nick I'm back in the UK now.

As you said, even though they lost some of their Stanley Cup winning defense I think they'll be just fine in that section. On the other hand though, losing Ryan McDonagh could be a hole in the team.

In addition, losing Ondřej Palát is a very big blow for me. Like you said Palát was a big part of their continued success.

In my opinion Ross Colton is an underated player. It'll be interesting to see how he does next season.

I would've liked the Nick Paul deal to be 6 years but the AAV is fine. Cernak's deal year wise is fine but AAV for me should be just 5. Cirreli's contract is fine for me. For me Segerchev's should be 8×7.

Overall though I think the Lightning CAN still compete for the cup.

    Loved the video.

(P.S. Sorry for the long comment)

  5. I think Sergy is the type of guy where you want to show that faith in him right now. We've had a crazy run and Sergy has been very young through it all, and after the disappointment in the Cup Final the last thing you wanna do is give everyone else "We Believe In You" deals, but tell Sergy "Let's wait and see." Maybe he doesn't end up living up to the full value of it, but he has a lot better chance of doing so if he (a highly self-critical guy mentally, who is at a pivotal point in his development curve) knows that we have 100% faith in him. He's not the type of dude where you have to worry about complacency, and let's be real we're going to resign him, so with 3 other guys getting 8 year deals he would have felt like the only reason we waited was to see if he played bad enough next season to lower his price. Which is a pretty crappy feeling, if you're a member of this core for years and then Nick Paul shows up and takes first priority while you don't even get a deal done at all. JBB avoided that whole entire mess by just paying the dude at the same time as everyone else – no mixed messages, no doubts. Really like this deal from that perspective.

  6. I think we got one more good season, maybe a season and a half out of the current core players, then TBL will be in a rebuilding phase. If they don't get another cup, or at least make it deep into the playoffs again next year then the window will be closing for sure. 2024 is the blowout year where several of the core player contracts end, 2025 Stamkos is up, I see him retiring then if not sooner. I'm prtty sure BriseBois is thinking the same way, he knows with the cap it will be hard to resign guys like Kilorn, Colton, Bellemare, and Hagel, he also knows that Stamkos, Hedman, Corey, and Maroon are getting up there in age (as far as hockey is concerned), and likely will retire and will be out of gas by the time their contracts are up. The window is still wide open for next season for TBL, but it will be closing after that.

  7. Finally a channel with some Lightning team discussion. Spot on comments I agree totally. I knew we would be losing Foote and totally agree with trading Killorn. Great to see namestikov back I’m sure I butchered his name. As a native Floridian and hockey fan from it; so hoping we can be a contender this year. Stamkos busts his ass for the cup, wish we could see that all around. He is such a great leader. We have to have faith in BriseBois’ decisions, they have been great. Great video look forward to seeing more.
