Seattle Kraken 2022-23 Aperçu de la saison

Ils devraient être meilleurs, même s’il est peu probable qu’ils soient dans la chasse aux séries éliminatoires pour l’instant. 1. If they get average goaltending then they might just sneak into a playoff spot, especially given the weak Pacific. Their blueline still needs work.

  2. You hit 250 thousand subscribers. Quite the feat. Congratulations!

  3. They should be much better this year but I feel that the coaching and the goaltending is on thin ice.
Their inaugural season was too rough for the relative quality of a new team's roster.

  4. The top three things I'm going to be looking for this year will be:
1 how our top prospects work out. If the coaching staff is good enough to develop them and coach to their strengths.
2 if the teams performance is stagnant like last season, will the gm make a coaching change.
3 will Tanev be 100%. I really liked his grit and hustle and am anxious to see him on the ice again.

  5. I don't get the sense there is any urgency to win in that market. They have plenty of leeway there (it would seem). Seattle is a market that always seemed content just to have professional sports franchises in the market. I really don't expect much this season. Maybe a 10-12 point improvement. Good team chemistry will be key. Grubauer and Jones probably won't steal too many games, but we'll see.

  6. Special teams are an indicator that the Kraken do not have elite talent yet. Whether it is elite scoring, defense or goaltending. Nothing unusual with an expansion team. There are high expectations on Beniers and shortly Wright. I think they will either draft a good defense prospect next season and then, maybe they bring a solid starter or …maybe an improved defense shows that goaltending was not exactly to blame, but the lack of support in front of the net. Maybe they drafted defenseman in 2022, in the later rounds, which could support the D corp sonner rather than later.

  7. I think because of how successful Vegas was, my expectations were high, but holy cow was Seattle barely a footnote last year. I actually have to remind myself they’re a thing.

  8. I honestly thought their D was their only strong point last season, they need more firepower and a decent goalie. Their offense is hopefully better with bjorkstrand, beniers and (maybe) wright but oof 5 more years of grubauer at that cap hit is gonna be rough. I don't see it as him needing to bounce back, I see it as him getting exposed as mediocre without a powerhouse team in front of him. He was so leaky last season, it's not on the defense.

I just hope they're more fun to watch. Not expecting big results but they killed all the hype putting such a boring, weak team on the ice that first season. Seattle fans already have the Mariners, doubt they're that suped up to watch another bad team.

  9. I think both their goalies were frauds tbh. Most goalies would instantly do much better on the Avs or Panthers lol. Also, their coaching and GM are total nightmares and destroy team chemistry. 68 points.

  10. They haven't lost anyone of major consequence and they've added scoring help and depth.

Their D was their brightest spot last year: 3rd overall (and for awhile tied w/ LA) in SOG's against. Grubauer had too many unacceptable performances. 31 of 55 games w/ a sub 90% outing; Seattle won just once in those games.

A full year of Tanev would be nice: he was their most noticeable player before his injury and an instant fan favorite. Beniers looked very good in his audition and adding Wright unexpectedly can only help. One thing's certain: Francis isn't going on a future-mortgaging spree a-la Vegas after a disappointing 60-pts showing would should help Seattle long-term.

  11. Even as a Montreal fan, it still feels like 'the Wright draft' I'm very intrigued at how he turns out

  12. Will end up over the Oilers after the season, so yes, in the playoffs.

  13. I watched dang near every Kraken game last year and Larsson was terrible outside of a few offensive flashes. He led the team in hits. big whoop. And that was only after they got rid of Lauzon. The 8 goals was nice at least, but defensively him and Dunn paired together were… avant garde, to say the least.

  14. Shannon I hope you get a chance to go to a Kraken game this upcoming Season. The atmosphere at Climate Pledge Arena is electric! We love having the NHL!

  15. My number one feature I want for YouTube right now is a “show results” button for polls because I think the results get skewed when people don’t have an opinion but then randomly select an option anyway because they’re curious of what people think

  16. If you have a top line of beniers, burakosky, and bjorkstrand. That's a solid offensive threat. A second line of McCann, Schwartz, and Eberle actually gives this team 2 lines that can score. While they won't make playoffs they should certainly improve this season.

  17. gotta keep wright up. Been too dominant in junior. he needs a euro pro year like matthews but hell have to do without

  18. All it would take to spark the much anticipated rivalry with Vancouver, would be a good drubbing by one team in the other team's barn.
    Or a good brawl.😊

  19. Some people sleep on beds. Some people sleep on couches. And some people sleep on THE SEATTLE KRAKEN! I bought season tix. 3 days later they drafted Wright and a few days later they added Bjorkstrand. I have been doing cartwheels ever since.

  20. I picked Kraken to get 3rd or 4th as I said they can finish in top 4 of Pacific. I really like what they did on their blueline with Soucy 6'7 LHD who can score 10 to 20 goals with a plus 7 or something last year. Dunn is good on PP while got Oleksiak who I'm not big on. Then they got Schultz a RHD that should help PP along with Larsson and Borger or Fleury or others. They should be able to roll 4 lines while goalies play can improve with Martin Jones who only goalie to ever take Sharks to SCF. Their Save Percentage last year was like .898 or something bad. I think they got a better top 6 or 5 D-men than most teams in Pacific like Sharks or Kings who very thin. I can see sending 5 teams from Pacific as Avs/Blues lock but Nashville can miss who have best to be in top 3 of Central. They barely made it with goalie going down then two guys scoring over 40 goals with Roman Josi over 90. Wild I can see flopping with cap issues along with Fleury in net. Then we have Stars who only team to score less than LA to make Post Season with 238 with a Negative Goal Differential. I"m thinking least 4 come from Pacific as even last year it was close with Knights choking down stretch while Canucks nearly got in contention. All their lines should have forwards who can score 20 to 30. All it takes is one career Wild Bill year of guy breaking out with 40 or 50. I'm sold on Beniers a Homer at 2nd Overall unlike a Strike Out or Triple Play like Byfield was. Wright will pan out now or later. I can see them with least 77 points maybe 85 for lower range. How many will it take for Playoffs 95?

  21. Prediction: 7th in the pacific
Reasoning: while I could see this team making the playoffs if everything goes right (they do have a pretty decent roster), I think Hakstol is a pretty bad coach and he's gonna hold them back from their true potential. I do think the roster is good enough however that this year they will not be a bottom 5 team in the league and will keep a ton of games close.

  22. Developing the 2 young guys is goal #1 thru 99 of the top 💯 goals this year. Francis should personally see to it

  23. If their defense was better, I’d say they are a lock for playoffs. Justin Schultz does almost nothing to move the needle

  24. I think you give Hakstol 3-4 seasons. You won't know much after this next season. Pulling for the Kraken

  25. I expect the Kraken to do better in 2022-23, winning a few more 1-goal games than last year. The previous season's prediction was 25-30 wins (Actual: 27). This season's prediction: 30-35 wins, 47-52 combined losses. Competitive in most games but not enough to make the playoffs.

  26. I think this team is a 6th or 7th place. I do think they will improve over what happened last year. I really like the forward group. The D is shaky and the goaltending is also a bit shaky but it could be ok. This roster is as good as Vegas (which is not that good) to me it least.

  27. Seattle needs to fire dave hakstol. Never should have hired the guy. Hasn't won a championship on any level as a head coach in 15+ years as a head coach.
