This is why I love hockey. No matter what team you like, there's always a lot of respect for other teams and players for achievements such as this. I hate the caps as much as the next reasonable fan (😉) but kudos to backstrom for hitting that milestone!!!

Why were apples thrown?
It gets even better. After the game, when Backstrom entered the locker room (late because he was first star) his teammates threw the apples at him.
Ice crew has shovels….send them out
