Aperçu de la saison 2022-23 des Jets de Winnipeg

Les Jets ont raté les séries éliminatoires en 2022, mais ils pourraient revenir tout de suite s’ils démarrent bien cette saison. 1. Rick Bowness as this team’s coach is going to blow up in their faces. I expect they will be worse than last year

  2. Great vid! Not sure about this coming season. Waiting for this team to gel. Hopefully the locker room issues aren't a problem…

  3. Vegas finished fourth in the Pacific last year. Nashville and Dallas finished fifth and fourth in the Central.

  4. Heniola and Samberg are expected to push for top Four and they are both ready!!

Gustavsson, Morgan Barron are expected plus some other young guys cause we are loaded with young talent and up front!

  5. I'd be shocked if we don't make playoffs.
The Jets are free from Huddy and his god awful defensive systems that relied entirely on Byfuglien.

Watching the player interviews it was clear that there was a serious case of stagnation. Most of our players had only ever had the same coaching staff their whole career. Everyone seems excited for this season and they're buying in to what Bowness has been telling them.

I think they're going to be a much more responsible team this year. I also think they're going to turn a lot of heads based on these comments.

  6. I think some steps need to be taken by Dubas.. And if Matt Murray doesn't pan out he needs to be OUT.

  7. Wheeler and Scheifele are one-way players and it's dumb that Cheveldayoff is still the GM. And I wouldn't be so quick to say this team isn't full of jerks.

  8. if helle doesnt bounce back its gonna be a rough season

  9. If you finish 5th in the Central there is a good chance you'll make the playoffs. 5 out of 7 years of this format the Central sent 5 teams to the playoffs, the other 2 years they sent 4. In 2020 when they did the play-in round every team from the Central made it.

  10. Statsny criticises Scheifele, Chevy be like: You are talking sxit about my bro? You are out. Chevy+Schefele+Wheeler=Azzholes!

  11. I hate Winnipeg more than Montreal and Boston as a leafs fan rn, I hate like 80% of their roster but especially PLD, we don’t even have a rivalry with them they’re just such a dislikable team

  12. With no expiring contracts this year or even next and over 6M in cap space, it makes you wonder what moves the Jets may still make? If this team plans to compete what is the benefit of holding on to cap space when literally every other competitive team has spent to the cap.

  13. 6th in central….I think Hellebuyck will have a bounce back, the 1st line is still strong, but after that so many weaknesses.

  14. I think this is the most interesting division in hockey. 6 boom or bust teams and 2 shitters lol

  15. No, there were 5 teams that made it from the Central last season. You would think that someone named "The Hockey Guy" would remember the playoffs from 4 months ago.

  16. Winnipeg is that 1 team in our division that is just there they don’t scare anyone but they can make noise sometimes

  17. Prediction:6th in the Central
Reasoning: that defense and depth is gonna hold them back so much, I can't see them any higher than any of the other central teams gunning for the playoffs

  18. Will be interesting to see what this team can do with an actual team structure. The coaching staff this year is lightyears beyond the old one. Maurice is a great motivator but he relies a lot on the players knowing what they are doing. Excited for the season, I thin Chevy has a trick up his sleeve prior to season start

  19. I think the biggest thing that's going understated is the coaching changes. The Jets were essentially tied for league worst on the PK while our PK coach was on medical leave. When he came back, the PK trended upwards, and almost got us back to average, despite how horrible it started. Advanced stats only go so far, but it was estimated that the Jets lost out on around 8 wins while the coach was away. 16 pts is a massive swing for a team, and that's just on the PK alone. 20th on GA with a defensive system that could best be described as "anarchic". All of those coaches have gone out the door, and been replaced with fresh blood. Fresh doesn't always mean better, but it's honestly hard to be worse than anarchy and absenteeism.

The key to the Jets success in 2018 was a shot suppression style of defence, along with a very aggressive forecheck. Both of these styles are historically things that Bowness loves to instill in the team, so if the players buy into Bowness, the team is already immediately better, and in familiar territory.

I'll be interested to see what happens to Florida this year, as it will give a very clear indication on the impact that Maurice had on the Jets.

Outside of that, I think you're bang on for the rest, especially the part about Cheveldayoff. If he can land a middle 6 guy that can reliably hold down the left side behind Connor, then I think the Jets are sitting quite nicely going into the season.

Finally, less related to you specifically, but I disagree with the voter majority on the Jets being outside the playoffs this year (barring freak or rampant injuries). Realistically, they simply aren't on the level of Colorado either; I would honestly guess they'd be competing for 2nd or 3rd with St. Louis and Minnesota, more likely 3rd than 2nd.

  20. It's a shame this team didn't make at least one deep run. I really had them pegged as a good playoff team and they had all the right pieces. They might still have one more shot in them but they will need some magic and one hell of a good coach!

  21. Love your old school Jets cap.
I am looking forward to seeing Perfetti get his chance on the Jets middle 6 this season.

  22. 500 club now and forever…just here to put on a $100.00 a ticket show as before don't get your hopes up !

  23. EVERYONE was saying its time for the Coaches to go …… so thats all we have to do … we started the Season 9 -3 we won our last 4 games of the season 4 – 0 cause they were playing for the Team and Fans …. Wheels and Scheiff for sure have to start back checking Shieff could have prevented so many goals if he skated a bit faster (Back Checking) and take the guy with the puck …..

  24. Even if the Jets threw half their games, their record would be better than Arizona and Chicago.

  25. The Jets will make the playoffs – Most of their overtime losses came from Dallas or Vancouver. That's how close they were.

  26. NHL Live – No longer available in Canada. Hi Shannon, I live in BC too and used to watch all of the Jets games on NHL Live (home and away). How are out of market Jets fans supposed to get all the games this year?

  27. It all depends on health of the jets. Ehlers was hurt most of last season when he was on a hot streak. Also when ehlers returned to the line up jets started to win again.

  28. most in peg city have very low hopes, mostly due to the media though; we can't forget that even last season with the big rework of the defense most Canadian media outlets had them missing the ploffs even before the season started and it all came true. I feel this year we will have a resurgence from many players. 3rd in the central. doing this for clout with the boys in a few months lol.

  29. Why is the Arena so small? Tickets must be a fortune. NHL must have been completely desperate to move Atlanta to Winnipeg.

  30. I plan on doing something different this year. I plan on investing as much money and effort into this team as they gave to the fans…….Oh Yeah that would be NOTHING!!!!
