Great video bro….im.out for Flethcer ..lol..he killed my Flyers ; turned down Johnny Hockey 🏒 ans everyone else…Calgary got a real good player in Herb

  2. Took Florida 26 years to get out of the first round, so they fire the coach and make a terrible trade to overpay a hyped up free agent. Brilliant!

  3. It looks like alot on paper but with both guys from Florida being Ufa after this season and Florida probably not being able to get both resigned, it's not as lopsided as it originally looks. 8 years of Tkachuk for one guaranteed season of both huberdeau and weegar, plus mid-late 1st pick and prospect. Who wins will come down to if those 2 guys sign long term deals in Calgary or walk

  4. Amazing the Flames just have the same problem with Huberdeau next year at they had with Tkachuk & Gaudreau this year.
Now can the Devils please just sign Bratt long term?

  5. Very easy to say Calgary one the trade which I do think they will in the long run. I believe they will re-sign Huberdeau and even Weegar and sell one of their other D down the line . I think Zito had his talks with those guys and didn’t come to any common ground. First rounder is nice and Hub had to waive his NMC to go there so there’s interest . Panthers don’t have a first overall for a long time but you get a big time player in MT. I’ll say I’m glad the Devils knew better than to negotiate with Calgary. Apparently Carolina was in on it , I can’t imagine who they were dangling out there in talks … sheesh

  6. Flames only got Huberdeau and Weegar for a year potentially. I agree I'm glad NJ did not try to match this deal and loose key players. We still have to see how our goalie situation plays out and we have a lot of cash. I hope they stop fooling around and and sign Bratt to a nice long term deal now. Sometimes player's moves cannot be predicted. We believed lie after lie from Parise saying he loved NJ and how he wanted to stay and the very first sentence out of his S mouth after he signed with Minnesota was that he always wanted to play there (because that's where he grew up). Well Minnesota got what they paid for and it wasn't a championship. That was a classic stupid Lou move. When Parise didn't extend, he should have dumped him like Calgary dumped Tkachuk. That along with Kovy wanting to kiss Putin's A in mother Russia and signing Ryan Clowe for 5 mil @ 5 years after he already had 7 official concussions nuked the Devils for a decade.

  7. Not a popular opinion but I say Florida wins the trade overall. They get the player with way more prime years. Short term I say Calgary wins though.

  8. Oh yeah random but .. did anyone else look at the Jackets trade with Bjorkstrand and say hmm , why weren’t the Devils in on it ? Like maybe we were and it’s the same division but like cmon .. Give a second and a prospect for a guy most likely if paired up with Hughes is hitting 30

  9. Huberdeau is a highly skilled lightweight. Maybe wil change up North but Zito had to ship him out after his embarrassing playoffs. Weegar is a bigger loss for us. But LoVE this trade.

  10. I’m pretty disappointed to be honest. The dream is finally over..
You can’t argue with the return but I blame Montreal. If the Canadians selected Wright 1st overall then Slafkovsky would have been available at 2 for Calgary to draft if they traded Tkachuk to the Devils.
Oh well life goes on. What’s next for Devils?
Do they give young guys like Nolan Foote or Chase Stillman a chance at a top 9 spot? Or do they keep fishing for a physical forward with skill that Fitzgerald always talks about?

  11. Overview:
Straight comparison of 2 main pieces: Huberdeau next year is better player & almost $4M on cap cheaper. Tkachuk will always be slower & less skilled then Huberdeau & playing style comparison would worry more about Tkachuk at 31 vs Huberdeau @ 35. Prospect was a hi B prospect (leaning to A in weaker farm system) & Weager was a top 2 Dman for under $4 M.

    Florida perspective:
Huberdeau could have resigned likely for less, or at least same. They know he works on roster & his style & speed suites what Florida tries to do. They replace that with Tkachuk who is a hi end talent but not as offensively gifted. May take a step back offensively, he is slower & has stints of consistency issues. In general, assume a wash for forwards. For Defense, got weaker (obviously), and depleted prospects & draft capital got worse.

    Calgary perspect
Took only 1 year left of Tkachuk, turned 1 yr of Tkachuk in to Huberdeau (Gaudreau replacement) + Weager (massive D upgrade) + C prospect & 1st rounder in a few years. That first round pick could turn out to be 4 years from now if Florida's window closes in next few years & 2025 is in top 10. Cgy got much better at forward, on D & prospect depth. Even if Huberdeau & Weager leave, they still had them as long as they would of had Tkachuk & have a bunch of futures to still come.

    Summary:
Love this trade for Calgary & make it every single day when offered. Hopefully Tkachuk works out for style of play & doesn't have issues w/ Bennett like he did back in Flames' days.

  12. As Sasha Barkov fan, I hate this trade. That pacifier sucking idiot makes it impossible to watch Panther games for the rest of Sasha's career 😞

  13. tkachuk a piece of chit evander kane put matthew in his place thats when flame management knew to sell he didnt answer the bell when needed and im a oilers fan

  14. Flames win because they gained defense and more but it's debatable. MT is so valuable that he got an extension. Where is the extension for JH? Flames need more than JH offensively. Maybe they should try and sign Kadri.

  15. I'm glad the Devil's didn't go all out in Tkachuk, too much given up. I think Calgery wins this, even if Huberdeau splits, a 1st in this next draft and Mackenzie is good. Of course it's not the same if they don't sign but it's an impressive haul.

  16. I would’ve traded Tkuchuk for a dozen pucks and two broken sticks.

  17. I love how YouTube content creators talk about this trade like they know who won the trade as if the GM of these teams don’t know as much as legorocks

  18. As a Flames fan , I was impressed with how much Treliving got in return for Tkachuk. But it’s still frustrating that Johnny walked for nothing. Gonna be tough not seeing the two of them with the Flames this coming season. They were the faces of the franchise. It worries me that Huberdeau (and Weegar) need new contracts. It also worries me that neither of them have said anything publicly yet about coming to Calgary. Their silence is a bit concerning and disheartening in my opinion. We can’t even keep star players that are developed here and like the city , because of high taxes , Canadian winters , more intense pressure to win , more intense criticism with playoff failure , more travel , etc. Gonna be tough to convince them to sign long term when we couldn’t keep two existing players who both claimed to love the city. At least we got some significant assets for Matthew that we can parlay into something else if they don’t want to sign here long term.

  19. Off the bat with out any games played, Cal won. Huberdeau is older, but has better career stats. And with a decent d man. And if Cal can sign Huberdeau for a long term contract, they even won more. Also, Cal gets a player who actually wants to play in Cal.

  20. Did player loyalty die with the COVID pandemic? Are we ever going to see another Yzerman or Sakic who stick with their team to retirement? Players used to care about winning. Now they care about taxes, travel, and sunny weather. The NHL used to have “players”, now they have “employees”.

  21. Huberdeau without an extension is a big deal.

If the Flames sign him they clearly win this trade. He is 29 so 4-5 years would be a dream, but he will probably want an extra year or 2 on top of that.

If they don't they need to move him at the deadline for draft picks. Then they need to go into full rebuild mode.

The Panthers get a pt+ /game player who should have at least a decade until he begins to decline.

All in all, I think the Flames won the trade, and Hubes signs a reasonable deal with them, they made out like bandits. If he doesn't and they move him for draft picks, it close. If he leaves for nothing, then the Panthers win the trade.

  22. American players hating on Canada.. the pandemic made these governments into tyrants.. Land of the FREE baby.. 🇺🇸
