  1. Ellis has missed substantial parts of 7 out of 11 seasons – he is undersized and 31 with a cap hit of 6.25 mil, I'd need a 50% salary retention before I'd even think about a trade.

  2. Don't quote me on this, but I don't think Ellis really wanted to leave Nashville to begin with, but I get the reasoning as to why they made the trade

  3. As a flyers fan; I don’t blame him however Ellis – you and your handful of games have been disappointing. Trade the cap space trade the player move on.

  4. Big flyers fan. Born and raised. We need to rebuild the entire organization. No one wants to be there. What the hell is the locker room like let alone the front office.

  5. I’m a Buffalo fan, but my second favorite is Philly.

I think Philly should move on from Ellis…not to appease him, but to get as much as they can for him – be it prospects or draft picks – and move on. Move on from Yandle as well, who is having a dreadful year.
Flyers have a solid young surge of players right now. Add Ristolainen in the mix, who is just coming into his prime (having a down year) but still a capable and physical defensemen, along with Sanheim, Provorov, Cam York, Attard, Zamula. Flyers are better off just going younger now, in my opinion.

  6. The death of Mr Ed Snider and Comcast Spectacore inheriting the team is what killed the franchise. It's been dying a slow death since.

  7. I’m a Sens fan, and Philly is my 2nd or 3rd favourite team (tied with The Isles). The situation in Philly reminds me of what my Sens went through a few years ago. They need to strip the whole thing down. Trade all the vets/established players, and focus on drafting. It’s gonna absolutely suck. But in the long run, it’s the right thing to do.

It was devastating watching Spezza, Stone, Hoffman, Karlsson, Duchene, Pageau, etc., get moved one after another. But a few years later, 99% of Sens fans are very happy with where the team is right now. Clear skies on the horizon!

Stay strong, Flyers fans. It could be a rough 2-4 years. Luckily you have a pretty good defensive pool to work with, and Hart should be able to bounce back next year. Who knows, maybe you get some lottery luck and can land a blue chip center to build around. 😉

  8. I can't believe they had a shot to get away from Risto or maybe give a 2-3 year deal but 5 YEARS? Maybe he'll get stronger or become shutdown but as a former Risto fan I believe we've seen his limitations, Flyers are gonna suck for a while.

  9. Wonder if an OEL for Ellis trade might be in the cards. Ellis contract is $1 mil less but one more year and he’ll be a bit older at end of it. Overall contract is more or less similar. This is assuming Ellis can get back to playing again. Cause if he does, I’d take Ellis over OEL any day.

  10. Ellis only suited up for 5 games as a Flyer, he’s not leaving until they get a season or two in return. Even if that takes 5 years at this point😂 Only reason he’s mad is because he loved Smashville and felt major disrespect for being traded basically 1for1 for Phil Myers who’s trash

  11. Myers was “part of a really solid defense core”. Wtf are you smoking ? Cool story and all but you know absolutely ZERO about what you’re babbling about

  12. Good that dude sucks at the game of hockey, and on top of that he refuses to play a whole season. He's had way more half seasons than full ones. Dudes a BUM and needs to stick to Podcasting.

  13. He wants out? He's been out most of the time since he's been here…hasn't had a positive impact on the team…ripping us off in the neighborhood around $6m. For some reason, I think the Flyers would have a hard time unloading him (who would want him)? And…based on early reports…he may miss part of the upcoming season…again. This is becoming a yearly occurrence, but is the 'norm' in Flyerland. More 'dead-weight' that the team has to coddle.
