Fuck all of u flyers all the way
@DonQwantsyou Bruins under Don Cherry were tough too…Terry O'Reilly, Wayne Cashman, Peter McNab….. Bill Barber, Reggie Leach??? they weren't goons, Bobby Clarke wasn't a goon…. only the Habs can say they had finesse…..Don't you remember the New Year's Eve game between the Bruins and Rangers where the Bruins went into the stands and fought the Ranger fans in MSG??? Like that wasn't a stain on hockey….it's on youtube, watch it and tell me the Bruins weren't goons!
@quincee33 Bruins had some goons like Green, Milbury, but most were just tough MFers with terrific talent like McKenzie, Turk, Sanderson, Orr. Check it out 1971 B's were greatest offensive team in history for one year they set 37 individual and team records. They played sublime offensive hockey. They combined physical toughness and on ice brilliance to grace their championships. Even Cunucks could'nt do that.
@DonQwantsyou ya they could score, you don't win Cups without being talented, and the Flyers won back 2 back Cups….. so they could score also. Search Bruins bench clearing brawls and see how many youtube Vids come up! nuff said.
@quincee33 Certainly Flyers emulated B's in some respects with acquiring tough players, like Schultz, who took it to another level, because they were pushed around in earlier years. Flyers had some stars like Barber, McLeish, Clarke but won their championships mostly due to great goaltending, hard work, and clutch scoring than anything else, PLUS intimidation asa factor more than any other champ in the history of the league. It was their formula for success.
@XardicPenguin its how the video looked on t.v. back then. its not the video its the t.v. back then

Flyers played soviet teams 5 times and got 3 loses and 1 draw. Strange that all of north americans act like it was main match of the century.

Ok, you made them suffer 1 time, soviets made you suffer 3 times. Congrats.
Flyers played like dirty pigs in this match 🙂
Thanks for congratulations. Now open Wiki and read that there were 8 (if I remember correct) soviet clubs that ever played in superseries, not only Red Army. And NHL allowed fixed amount of side players to join them. Look at all-time statistics, it will clearly show you that Soviet clubs won more games than NHL's. How about USSR vs NHL series (1979, 1987), where you were allowed to sign foreign players, not only canadians? Our national team against NHL all stars, still you've lost both times LOL
"If we lose I think it'll be worse than dying" hahahaha
Displaying poor sportsmanship. Now that's funny.
God bless the 70's Flyers
now we know why the Nazis invaded Russia instead of philadelphia
flyers beat red army
I remember the 72 series in Russia Garry Bergman being kicked by Boris Mchiloff great style of play. Watching Espo a while back telling how they would go after your ankles with their sticks. The heavy duty play of the Flyers may have been some payback for that. Whine cry blame the other guy Russian hockey at its finest, what Red Army got they earned and deserved it. Ted Woodard CANADA
The correct title : Red Army vs Canada.
This wasn't even a dirty game by NHL standards of the time.
Did Kate Smith sing at that game?
Ah my Flyers lol!
Ah my Flyers lol!
That was the game that made me the Flyers fan ever since.
maybe not the best game but the most triumphant one
put reggie in the hall
Crying about Philadelphia being dirty is too funny because very few nations in history have been as dirty and cheated like the USSR and Russia. The signs at the game are funny ;ile "Tell it to the Czar." The Czar was not perfect but did not deserve what he got, dirty communists. People like Stalin and Lenin were completely evil. Capitalism, America, and Canada did win because the Russians come over here to play and Canadians and Americans do not go over to Russia. I know this is a theory, but it would be hard to say that a team all time soviet or Russian players could even touch an all time Canadian time. Canada would crush every country including the United States all lime team. Although the United States has allowed individual hockey players to get as much money as they get now. The NHL now has a good reason not to strike because the Stanley Cup can not be allowed to go to a Russian team because it will not be seen ever again. The Russians would probably melt it down to screw the west knowing them. Luckily the real Stanley Cup is not awarded anymore and is and always should be in Canada in an air tight vault. If one wants to see dirty and cheating look at the 1972 Olympics Men's basketball gold medal game. That was dirty and cheating and the Olympic committee can shove the silver medals up their corrupt behinds. So the Soviets and Russians claims of dirty play are laughable and go tell it to the czar.
damn those flyers are good

For such things, you just need to tie the eggs with a knot and pull them over your nose.
