I don't think the purple and black jerseys was a good look for them. Especially during the rivalry between the Sacramento Queens and Lakers
I'm probably not the first person to tell you this but the Lakers colors were actually modeled after the Kings. The Lakers wore Blue and White until the owner of the team was granted his Hockey team, when the fans decided the name of the hockey team was going to be the Kings, he decided the colors were going to be "Forum Blue and Gold" and if he was going to have two teams under the same roof, they were going to share colors. Hence the Lakers now wearing Purple and Yellow.
