i really enjoy this video 😛 im a montreal fans and i agree it will take sometime to be good but when the young core will have more experience we gonna be contender…for goalie alot of people forget about Jakub Dobes or Frederik Dichow can maybe achieve more then we think

Idk if it’s just me but for an Avs team that’s already up against the cap. How are they gonna pay MacKinnon??? He’s gonna need at least 11 million but probably gonna be in the 12-13 million range. So I would guess about an extra 6-7 million for his extension after this year. They will have to lose a major piece of that team or lose a lot of the depth that makes them so competitive. I just don’t see how this Avs team isn’t gonna slowly decline these next 5 years. That’s just me though.
For the Hawks, it all honestly depends who they get in their drafts. If they get Bedard, things can bet better mich quicker than people expect.

While I definitely don’t disagree with you ranking the hawks last for the next five years, I still wouldn’t say they have the worst future in general as they still have a good amount of prospects and young players that can become future stars.
Even though I am biased as an isles fan I still think you ranked them way too low. While yes we are an old team we still have a lot of young players with many room for improvement like Wahlstrom, Bellows, Dobson, Romanov, and even played like Beauvillier and Barzal aren’t that old and can have growth as well. We also have a decent amount of solid prospects like Raty, Odelius, and Dufour, and even Holmstrom has a small chance of succeeding. I know you are only doing 5 years but I definitely can see a good amount of these guys having break out/improved seasons over that time.

LA as a top 5 future team, in the next 5-7 years? They would have to get so much right to get there. Doughty is a shell of himself, Petersen hasn't proven he can play a whole season as a starter, Kopitar carries the offence, and is aging. Theres teams in the bottom 15 in the same situation. Basically if prospects don't develop they're screwed, they do not have a solid core locked up…..
Sorry bro but you don't make any sense what you're talking about. You speak of multiple players that have no NHL experience at all that they will be the future or they will dominate etc. Have you considered that some talent will flop and some will never play a full nhl career. You have zero credibility

Prospects are so overrated at times. I mean obviously there are talents that make abteam way better in the future but just having any prospect that might be a 3rd liner in 5 years gets valued so high at times. Meanwhile the value of 29-31 year old players is soooo underrated. You can give these guys a 5 year contract and they WILL produce at least until they are 33. there are like 1/10 mid tier prospects who make it to a top6 role in their career and 1/10 29-31 y/o who decay before they are 33-34, still they get valued like they retire next year (from fans)
