  1. We should of won in 14 or 15. AV cost us another possible apperance in 17. 12 Torts ran the team into the ground.

  2. Gaborik was a 40 goal scorer. Injuries fucked him, elite speed and an elite release, look at his Minnesota days, guy was a genuine stud, but how many full seasons did he have

  3. It shows clearly money money money doesn't always win. As a Rangers fan it was hard from 1999 onwards until Jagr came

  4. What is indicative of former GM Jeff Gorton, the Rangers actually went through the draft vs quick fixes via overpaying for aging vets. A part of my soul died in the 2014 NHL Finals. Going into the 3rd period, the Rangers had the lead every game yet lost the series. Sure Nash, St. Louis were past their prime, the defensive corps led by Ryan Mcdonagh was incredible at penalty killing, smothering the nastiest offensive teams like Washington, Pittsburgh, & Montreal.

  5. The pieces look to be fitting together but still a good distance away from making a serious run; Love the Gallant addition though… Jack would help too )

  6. The Rangers had a lead in 4/5 games during that Stanley Cup Final, that still bothers me

  7. I hated the fact that we traded gaborik before the 2013 playoffs (most likely due to problems with Tortorella, what a shocker). I would have loved to see him on our team for the 2014 run to the finals. Instead he ends up going to the king's and was an absolute beast in the 2014 playoffs smh

Also, glad you mentioned this shannon. There's been so much talk lately about Tampa buying a cup. Take it from a rangers fan that watched this team in lates 90's and early 2000's, you definitely can't always buy your way to a cup.

P.S. – one cool thing you left out, they came back and won a series from a 3-1 deficit in back to back years (I believe they are the first team in nhl history to ever do that in back to back years?) Against the pens in 14 and then against the caps in 15. As a fan, those were two of the best series i've ever watched.

  8. I worry that they will revert back to bad choices in picking up that one player they think will take them to the Cup. I really believe that this group needs another year to mature into a solid group. In other words keep the band together and leave Eichel alone. He will cost too much. If I am wrong I will love to admit it.

  9. The number of bars and houses I went to to watch the prime SC playoff years (2010-2016) in my late teens, early twenties will always give me nostalgia. Rooting for King Henrik in playoff hockey had been one of my favorite spring past times.

  10. I'll break I down for those that don't wanna watch the whole video
Got a big name every off-season and a generational goaltender and still blew winning a cup

  11. As a Rangers fan I can't stress this enough…
Post 2000 Rangers Playoff History = Henrik Lundqvist
    The End

  12. If Eichel does end up leaving Buffalo and makes his way over to the Rangers, I feel like that could get us much closer to success

  13. Lundqvist came in 2005-2006 and after that they are a playoff team despite needing to get under the cap.

  14. I don't think we will ever get a guy like Messier and his leadership again. Some things are just the planets aligning. That said I would love to get a seasoned center with leadership qualities to bring along the vast amount of youngsters. Another real quality blue liner with Fox would also bring a big smile to me face. And of course protect and keep zibanejad . LGR

  15. 8:04 Montreal fan here: yeah I'm chill!! 🙂 …………..NOT!! But seriously though, that Price injury was one thing, but I cannot credit the loss on losing Price alone. I remember it very well, they just downright QUIT when they saw Price was out, and the Rangers jumped on the occasion. TBH I was more disappointed in 2014 than I am now losing the Cup to Tampa 🙁

  16. Don't forget that the Rangers and lost to Flyers last game of regular season in a shootout the year the first time missed the playoffs post-lockout

  17. First year they make the playoffs, after 2000, also happens to be Henrik Lundqvist's first season, eh? Crazy

  18. They could never beat the Caps in the first round, but they always beat the Caps in the second round

  19. Awesome Vid Dude, except for the Nash hiccup…We got Fox & Panarin, all we need is for Zibanejad to play like he did in the '19-'20 season!

  20. Jags got hurt in the Devils series and was not even close to 100 percent which was a huge reason they were knocked off. Sabres series they were top heavy in scoring and had no scoring depth. Lundqvist was one of the biggest reasons they went anywhere those early seasons after the lockout. Then they got bounced because they had almost no scoring if Gaborik was held off the board and with Tortorella as coach, he fell into decline. The Rangers were the hardest working team I’d ever seen in ‘11-‘12 and were beat by a grinding fourth line much like the Isles have now. The next few season, just about ever series went 6 or 7 games and was a big factor in the team not being able to get to another Cup. Zuc actually got hurt in a few of those playoffs too and him not being there was big loss. The series against the Kings was the end of Lundqvist being a top tier goalie, it was the start of his decline. Nash being turned into a fourth line winger was another big reason and I suppose his concussion issues as well. Nash was proud of being a dependable player in his years with the Rangers but we wasted 7 mil a year on a back checking forward, no thank you. I would have taken a 40 goal selfish Nash over that, we had enough defense on those teams.
