Colorado vs Detroit 2023
I know that people say that Ben Chiarot isn't good, but he is so difficult to play against. He hits hard which can scare off opposing forecheckers. Isn't afraid of blocking shots, always finishes checks, and plays really aggressive defensively. This does cause an increase in penalty minutes and some scoring chances, but 90% of the time, he will stop the attack. In my personal experience my team had to play against a team, and they had a huge physical defenseman. He was probably 6'4 220, and played just like Chiarot. We always had to keep our heads on a swivel, and couldn't go into the corners the same way. The stats don't show it, but it creates an extra level of caution, because nobody wants to get killed.
In my ratings the offense will be 25% better, defense will be 40% better, PK 50% better and PP 15% better. This is more than enough to make the playoffs. They won't go to far. They still need 6 more to either step up, develope or find them else where to be a Stanley contender.
I don't think they're a lock but they're definitely going to be in the hunt all season. The Yzerplan continues on!
NOPE!!!
I vote no on playoffs for them. And good thing to, next years draft is deep. If I were a wings fan I’d be hoping to miss one last year to try and get a lottery pick in next years draft.
I thought Edmonton was going to get Husso
Good one. needed a laugh
Imma be really angry if Larkin ever gets traded that man was our only player for far too long and deserves to end his career in Detroit
Olli maatta as ur number 4?? Good fucking lord..😭😭
Personally, i dont expect or see us making it in. And im ok with that this year. I would consider a successful season to be us sitting 10 or less points out of a wild card spot. That would truly show improvement and hope for the future
As a Detroit Red Wings Fan I have to say , NO. 10% for the Payoffs. I'm lucky if they win more games as last year. I wanna see them to get better as Players and as Team!!
Lol nahh imo It's going to be the same 4 teams and i could see it going any way for who finishes first 2nd… etc..
Metro is a bit more close in my opinion and could also go any way.
No way. They still need more horses. That said, they will be much better. Copp and Peron on the second line guarantee that. My grandmother is an upgrade over Danny DeKuyser.
Walman and Zadina do not have singned yet next campaing for wings
Not right now, the 22/23 season hasn't started yet! But when it does, but when it does, "YEP!"
Cannot wait for the senators video!
I truly do beileve that they have one of the best young cores right now. If this team gets hot down the stretch look out everyone!
lmao not with this team
I don't mind if the Wings make the playoffs in 2023 or not but we have got to be better on the power play and penalty killing. A good number on the power play is around 20 percent and a good penalty kill is at least 80 percent but preferred higher than that. If they improve those two areas they will win more close games and that could be the thing that gets them in the playoffs. .
"Ben Chiarot is not as good as NHL GM's think that he is…" I really love how armchair GM's believe that they know and can analyze players better than NHL GM's or scouts. Between the community on Social Media that complete mock-drafts and these "wrap-up" videos, the self-proclaimed experts continue to spew their garbage about teams. There are exactly 32 GM Jobs on the planet, and the arrogance that fans and prognosticators have that they know better than these GM's is highly laughable and down right ridiculous.
Biased opinion
As someone from BC, if det was in the pacific, there would have been a decent chance.
they should there’s 4-5 additions that has been in the playoffs so rubber to glue they’ll be knocking on the doors anyways i believe 👍
Honestly couldn't have put it better myself. Looking forward to competitive and meaningful games, but I do think the Wings will get a wild card spot. My big question mark is for Berggren. Having seen him play live, he is so much better than everyone else out there and has nothing left to learn in the AHL, but the wing is a bit crowded, so who does he push out of a job?
They should be competitive playing games that mean something in march but not a playoff team just yet. Very minimum 1 more year until I think they are in there
No no no did you see how bad they were getting blown out by the end of last year. They’ll be better because they can’t be worse.
4:40. I disagree. I do consider that one of the best second lines in the league. If they’re all healthy, they will be as close to points scored as our first line
I say there will be an upset for one team and Boston won’t. Go for a run and will start there rebuild I call they make it
Everyone is talking about Ottawa and Detroit as potential contenders (and i get it, they made a lot of interesting moves) but I think Buffalo deserves a lot of attention as a potential contender as well. They climbed up the standings dramatically the last couple of months, finishing ahead of both Ottawa and Detroit. Not to mention they have so many good young players and prospects in Jack Quinn, JJ Peterka, Levi, Power and so on. Not to mention solid pieces in Tuch, Skinner, Cozens, and a breakout Tage Thompson. They just suffer in being such a young and now competitive division.
I don't know why you think Larkin Bert and Raymond will be top 3 in scoring. Vrana and Perron are gonna do work.
Mark Pysyk is very underrated you'll see
Wings are getting a wild card spot. Yep I said it, if the wings are in a spot a the trade deadline and there is a chance to add and not a rental Stevie will do it to make a playoff push, with all the wings assets and what's in the pipeline if there is something to good to pass up it will happen. Just a little * to all this, the wings have to stay healthy, meaning Vrana and the young guns, Vrana healthy is good for 30 goals and kubalik 20 or more, as long as Raymond doesn't have a 2nd yr slide he'll put up 30 as well as Larkin and Bertuzzi, Perron 20 to 30 Copp 20 to 30, the last time the wings had that kind of scoring potential was in the late 90s early 2000s so if they click and stay healthy I see the playoffs ❤️🪶
Have faith. I think they will get in.
I'm really excited about Detroit's future! I could see Detroit's future line-up look like this several years down the road: (2027-2028 Est:) Stanley Cup Contender
Buchelnikov Larkin Raymond
Hanas Kasper Berggren
Soderblom Lombardi Neiderbach
James Veleno Mazur
L-D Nilsson
Edvidsson Seider
Buium Hronek
Johansson Grans
Wallinder
Cossa
Gylander
Red wings gonna get that last playoff spot
Erne ain't starting bro, not over berggren and veleno, no way. Would also expect to see soderblom at some point
Take a deep breath and let the team get through training camp.
that damn division is so tough, not on the playoffs yet
The Red wings would have a better chance of making the playoffs if Steve Yzerman came out of retirement and suited up as a 2nd line center in a wheelchair. They could retrofit a wheelchair with blades instead of wheels so he could move around the ice better. He could have a helmet with hearing aids in it and be allowed to go offside whenever he feels like it. Maybe he could get a prescription visor too so he can see the puck. Then have a button on his armrest that makes a stick slap at what's in front of him. Plus he could have another stick in his hands to hook and slash people. The wheelchair would be motorized too with a battery powered jet pack just under the seat. I know he's old and all but I think another whole "Gordie Howe" situation would be great for the Wings. Remember how Gordie played too long and kinda embarrassed the league a little? That might work for Mo Town this year. All I'm saying is give it a try because it's gotta be better than what they've got now.
The Ottawa Senators underachieved last year. But overall, they were better than Detroit last year and they improved. Just noticed a mistake in the video, those are the 2021-22 stats not the 20-21 as shown. GF, Ottawa were 26th with only 3 goals behind Detroit, 22nd in GA (and anyone telling me that the Sens D sucked, then 10 other teams were way worse), 20th in PP% and 13th in PK%.
It's easy to blame the D when Ottawa played their backup for more than half the games! Ottawa did upgrade where they needed just like Detroit did.
As far for 90-95 points this coming season for the Wings. This means they will need to beat more playoff teams more often than non-playoff ones. Overall, with a lot of Eastern non-playoffs teams who got better. 90-95 points might be good enough for a playoff spot.
Such bad luck with the draft lottery. It's up to GM and team to do the best they can. I'm no GM and I don't try to be BUT I really think Stevie Y has done the best he thinks he can do. Will the Red Wings end up with a team that have players that are a tier down from the top contenders OR can they be a team that management showed what management can do? I'm a Red Wings fan and truly hope that GM and team can succeed. LGRW
I thought the last time did the Detroit Red Wings made the post season playoff for the Stanley Cup Quest was in 2015, but it was 2016, when both Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins are fighting for a playoff spot as of seed 8. I hope that Detroit Red Wings will be the winning team for this coming season. But if they lose badly, they don’t coming crying to me if they do get beating by the opponents. 😮
