  1. As a lifelong Sens fan, Whit is absolutely right about the horrendous location of the Canadian Tire Centre.

It’s nowhere even near Ottawa, it’s in Kanata, which is almost 30km southeast of their planned downtown location, and takes at least an hour to get there on a bus from downtown. The only things nearby the arena are car dealerships, an outlet mall, a Costco, and a church. Not very appealing

  2. A rink in the middle of nowhere??? There is a community of over 100,000 people around the rink. You look north and yes, there isn't any development in that directions. If you look east, west or south, there is plenty around that area.

  3. Ottawa is a Government city first and a University city second. Gov workers getting out at 5PM for a game night at 7PM, you have to leave work immediately, get home to change, and hit the road to make it for puck drop. It's a 45-60 min drive on game nights from central suburbs in Ottawa, zero exaggeration. Don't even count on the students living in Ottawa going to Carleton/uOttawa, they have classes and have barely any disposable income to make it to games to begin with. The fanbase is dedicated but the rink location has been a shit show for the last 2-3 decades. Moving the area downtown will put this team over the top. Whit knows what he's talking about here

  4. We are making the playoffs I'm sure of it with our work ethic and now talent it's over for the league SENS UP

  5. Toronto Maple Leafs are going to have a lot of troubles with Ottawa Senators, now they have to deal with Brady Tkachuk top line, now they have to deal with the second line and the third line, it's not going be easy for Toronto for sure

  6. Might have been if they’d gotten a D. Really Klingberg got a 1 yr $7M contract from Anaheim, how were Sens not in on Klingberg

  7. Don’t forget they didn’t give up a single prospect in any of the deals. The prospect pool is LOADED still and any one of those guys could pop off.

  8. the arenas location is great u gotta realize that there is nothing in bytown everyone lives in the suburbs and the surrounding area I live on the outskirts and I prefer the arena I kanata

  9. Everyone complains about the rink location but its only 15 mins from DT. If you move the rink DT you will have no parking and will miss out on all the people from surrounding towns that go to the games and are majority of the fan base.

  10. sens d core will be coming together very soon with all those prospects they have back there. soon to be wagon in 2 to 3 years time.

  11. In referencing the Erik Karlsson trade, people often forget that it brought in Norris AND Stützle.

  12. If you think the Senators area is in the middle of nowhere, then you haven’t seen it in at least 15 years. It’s surrounded by a large residential and commercial area that’s a far cry from what it used to be. That being said, a downtown arena would be an amazing location.

  13. Wow , this could be the first good video these clowns have ever made , good job considering how little they know about hockey

  14. Sens fans have wanted a rink downtown forever. Lotta red tape and government bullshit involved. Hope they get it done.
