I agree with Drance – Hughes will be serviceable or even good to very good playing on the right, but he is magical on the left. I would much rather see OEL be on the right and pull the trigger on the point, or better yet, the Canucks to find a natural RHD through a trade to keep both Hughes and OEL on the left. I think having two good LHD would minimize the toll taken on OEL so he can play better.
Quinn Hughes can easily play left side on the power play.
You either PTO Anton Stralman or you don't PTO anybody else.
OEL playing right side at a dependable level could make his cap hit a lot less painful.
Drance will OD on fentanyl as well. The dude needs to get off the coke or meth. The dude is so wired up just like our old friend Bothcford
I don't get this right side left side debate. Most of the highest scoring d men ever were left handed shooters playing the right side.

Jake Virtanen was considered a sniper? Never remember that. I remember he was supposed to be a power forward but couldn’t figure out how to run over and bully adults in the NHL the same as kids in the WHL. I never considered Virtanen an elite shot though. Was Juolevi a sniper too? 😏

Drance is a really good hockey analyst. Most aren’t as good as him.
