    Old habits die hard. That is the case when it involves closing out games for the Colorado Avalanche. They took the foot off the pedal…again. If it wasn’t for the offsides call via video review on the Sharks, it would have been a tied game in the 3rd period. Entering the last period with a 4-1 lead, the Avs fail to instill fear and despair into the Sharks. The Sharks legitimately believed that they still had a chance by playing hard defensively and applying offensive pressure. Mason and Sturm were brought into the organization to bring some physical presence yet somehow the Avalanche managed only to muster 11 hits. The Sharks nearly double the Avs’ total with 20. This was a sloppy finish on what was considered a good 40 minutes of hockey. They were only good and not great because they took way too many penalties. Bringing physical presence is not doing what Sakic imagined. Teams are not afraid of the Avs. There are only 20 games left in the season. If the Avs can’t shed their fragile image from last year’s playoffs soon, this team may head towards another early exit this post season.

    Nice fight back from the Sharks. Showing plenty of heart against a good Avs team.
    Despite there struggles this year I don't think there too far from a competitive core here.

    Once again we can’t shut down games. Especially against a pacific team? That isn’t playoff worthy imo. But hey I’m use to my Avs choking so I wouldn’t be that surprised

    AVS NEEDA start holding out GAMES- leads better thats one thing that could cost them later down the road get a lead and they naturally just kinda check out for the 3rd gotta fix that mentality

    As a goalie, San Jose losing this game was not Sanchoko's (the goalie's) fault, and Ill explain why. Most of the Avs goals were off of rebounds. A goalies job is to make the first save, and the defense clears up the rest. The goalie played very well, but did not have a team in front of him to clear out the garbage.

    Doug Wilson needs to be fired.Hertl is paid like he is a point a game player and he isnt that good and I sooo wish I was wrong.He would need to get 2 points a game for me to want to pay him so much.

    Did Doug Wilson even listen to other teams offers?

    A bad GM would have paid a lot for Hertl and Meier.That was the biggest ADVANTAGE the sharks had and he blew it

    Timo Meier Shark fans can smile knowing Doug Wilson will pay him UNLESS our cap is so full he cant.That is obviously the only reason he wont.Meier can know for certain as long as he does not get hurt he will get overpaid

    I like Hertl and Meier both seem really cool personally but overpaying players is what bad teams do.It is like all the playoff wins and HOF career Khalil Mack was supposed to get on the Bears with his bad contract.If you looked at his stats the last season with the Raiders it implied he wasnt as good as he appeared.Those stats alone made me happy the raiders were not paying him that.He still is/was a good player but 23 mill of cap per year at the time was a ton that was starting QB type money.

    Tons of Raider fans were so sad when he left and angry.There is a salary cap you cant pay and even more so overpay and expect to be good.

    The Raiders trade for Davante Adams is what a losing team would do or one that wants to lose.If the team was 1 player away from winning a superbowl could be the only way I could ever justify a move like this.The #1 reason it is a bad move/trade is the amount of salary cap Adams will get.It says his contract will average 28 mill a year? If you draft a wr at the bottom of round 1 they are 1-2 mill a year?

    The Raiders just gave Maxx Crosby a big raise and he is a B grade player at best.The Raiders will pay an average of almost 25 mill a year for him and he isnt event that good.He looks like a outlaw biker and seems cool but the raiders are soooooo stupid.I know fans love him and he is the face of the defense to many but his stats dont match the contract.
