  1. Alright, a "YES" vote is a huge step in the right direction–while this does not guarantee a new arena actually gets built, a major hurdle has been cleared–the complex plan sounds good, with many parts to it. Hoping they can get everything resolved and done–a 30 year lease seems a bit much, but I get it-it's business. Thanks for the breaking news update, I just got up as well and was wondering what became of the vote.

  2. What happened Mr TS? I thought the Coyotes owner was a deadbeat? I thought hockey in Arizona was never going to work? 2 plus billion says it will! Austin Matthews will be on the team in 5 years and in no time we will have better attendance then Ottawa!!!!!

  3. What do government and bad business people have in common? They both know how to flush money down the toilet. The team that literally has never turned a profit is gonna "make it work" with a new building? Forgive me for having my doubts.

  4. the scummy 5 tempe politicians especially that POS mayor, got enough $$$$$$ under the table to vote yes.. and it won't take long after ppl. move into the apartments they'll be complaining about the jet noise….of course by then all these scummy politicians will be long gone with their $$$$$.

  5. Another Socialist Conservunist Republican bailout for another failed PRIVATE business who skipped out on its $100 million taxpayer commitment to the City of Glendale! This guy is another apologist for his socialist brethren (Remember RTC, TARP, and CARES taxpayer bailouts). He's also Moronic! Glendale lost tons of money on these ice skating bums. Meanwhile are teachers are underpaid and Tempe's roads are full of potholes! Shame Tempe City Council!

  6. Glendale was a terrible location. The Phx area is massive and traffic is awful. The majority of the population lives or works in the E and SE. Glendale is NW, which means with a 6 or 7pm puck drop, fans simply cannot make it to games on time from work. With that said, even if it takes a while to build the local fanbase in Tempe, the area has so many transplants, ticket sales should be fine. I'm originally from MI and a life long Wings fan. We used to call Gila River "Joe Louis West" because every time they play in AZ, the arena was sold out with 3/4 Wings fans. Same goes for most mid-west, East coast, and western Canadian teams when they come to town. Tempe is a much better location and if they can ice a better product, I think it will work out.

  7. "Horse-Trading: clever, and often difficult, discussions in which people or organizations try to make a business arrangement, and each tries to get something more favourable to them."

  8. I'm going to assume you misspoke because Glendale is nowhere near Tempe.

  9. In my opinion this is a big mistake for Tempe, attendance might be ok at first but likely will fall off quickly unless the team is doing very well consistently. Team has never made a dime in the desert and it's far more likely to stay that way then to succeed.

  10. They just need to make an all-Canadian division and put Arizona in it. They might sell out all their division home games and fill up those hotels if they keep their prices like they were.

  11. Ahhhhhhh, what a shocker to all you “Chicken Little, know it all’s”, who really knew nothing. Hahahaha, those of us here in Arizona are wondering,……. “How does CROW taste? Like Chicken?

Move on to another rumor, clowns, Coyotes are staying in Arizona, finally have an Owner with deep pockets, and 10 years from now are going to be a powerhouse in the league!

    Hahaha!

  12. I can't think of any sports franchise that has this long of a weak fan support than the Coyotes. Name me any franchise in any sport that has relocated in the last 30 years, they had much better fan support than the Coyotes.

  13. Just speculating here but they might want to bring an NLL team back

  14. Build it and it will come don’t make short cuts build it up who knows it’s worked well for the Rangers so far.

  15. At last, the Coyotes are finally getting their new arena in nearby Tempe. Maybe the NBA's Suns and the WNBA's Mercury will move into the new Tempe Arena as well.
