They threw tons of money at Panarin, tried to sign Marner to a huge offer sheet. This owner/gm want to win and can recognize talent, will be interesting to see if a new coaching voice (and hopefully some stable lineups) allows for more offensive chemistry. Defensive core is very exciting this year with lots of development potential for Boqvist, Bean, Peeke and Lehtonen. Lots of offense coming out of the back end.

It's pronounced "Chee-na-hov". I can read Russian cyrillic, the handy thing with russian names in most cases, their names are pronounced the way there're spelt in cyrillic.

They were 6th in the Metro in 2020. Still were the 8th seed I believe

I’d like their chances at causing more waves if they weren’t in the metro. The metro is packed with good teams. But I’m ready to see how they come together. And the canon should be the primary logo and jersey for the CBJ.
If things go right for CBJ, I think this was their best overall draft yet. Johnson and Sillinger getting most of the hype and I think they’ll both be terrific. But for me, Cuelemans could end up being one of the biggest steals of the first round. Will be a complete 200ft Dman. Perfect behind Boqvist and Werenski, whom I think will be the long term first pair. Svozil a 2021 draft steal too. As far as non 2021 picks, Boqvist is the real deal. He should eventually be leading their PP. Foudy is going to be a legit top 6 guy, very underrated. Merzlikins is a very good young starting goalie. Bemstrom definitely a steal of a pick with a very bright future. Think he will be better than Bjorkstrand eventually. Frankly, I’m not sure what to expect from Laine. He’s regularly one of the most overrated wingers in the NHL. He needs to put more effort and consistency. That player we saw his rfirstvtwo seasons. Roslovic was really the win in the PLD trade. He’s a real deal top 9 center. Bjorkstrand is a very good winger, but more of a 2nd line guy. Voracek is Voracek Lol. He’s the type of player that could put a team over the playoff hump and add good chemistry, but he will need goal scorers to really do their job, Laine in particular if they play together. Domi is hit or miss. No telling which version shows up, Werenski very underrated. I would actually rather have him than Makar or Quinn Hughes because Werenski is far superior defensively which is the main purpose of being a defenseman. I actually think Werenski could score so much more than he does if he sacrificed defense for his own stats. CBJ fans should feel lucky he’s that kind if complete Dman, and not just a forward pretending to be a defender. A lot like Heiskanen. Bean was a great add and with Gavrikov and Carlsson should really help solidify the defense going forward. A 1st line of Laine – Roslovic – Voracek, a 2nd line of Johnson – Foudy -Bjorkstrand or Bemstrom, looks like a damn good top 6 down the road. Johnson has to still do a lot of work and prove he can play center. Until then, I think he’s an NHL winger. .I’m not sure about this season. Think they’re a lottery team still. But in 3-4 years, they could be an extremely good team.
Columbus just needs to keep improving on offense, defense and coaching.
Don’t forget about Tarasov as a goaltending prospect.

Hope Voracek and Laine will develop some good chemistry, I like both players and they could really compliment each other
If the prospects go berserk these guys could be a playoff dark horse. It really all depends, people are writing them off as a rebuild this year but Chinakov looks NHL ready, Sillinger may need a momth or two in Cleveland (or he may not.. and also be NHL ready.)
What will make or break this team is the young core that are in their 2nd or 3rd years (Robinson, Bemstrom, Texier to name a few) if they're quiet this year like last year then we'll be kicking rocks and working on golf swings.

They got locker room issues or something, if you look their goal cellys they hardly even smile. I'm not blaming Torts for last season, they just missing the energy as a team.
