  1. I'd try to move Matthews to Edmonton for McDavid, hometown boy and mega star. The question would be what would Edmonton want as an add in. McDavid just seems out of place in Edmonton and Matthews is a stud center that scored more goals than McDavid. Its just seems like it would be a good fit for each team.

    Makhevev-McDavid-Marner
    Clifford-Tavares-Nylander
    Hyman-Kerfoot-Kapanen
    Robertson-Spezza-Engvall

Keefe made rookie coaching mistakes in his rookie season. You have 2 tough guys on your team in Clifford and Muzzin. Yet you put one of these tough guys on the 4th line getting 4th line minutes that could do damage up the line with more minutes. THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE. Take it from a guy who coached for 22 years and won 18 championships, one in which was the Can-Am cup in 1996.

  2. And another stupid decision was Dubas promising Nylander that he would not trade him. NOT ONE OTHER GM IN THE LEAGUE WOULD HAVE DONE THAT!! Tied Dubas's hands and now if the right deal comes along, Dubas can't make the deal or is he does, then he shows his word is useless. Just freaking stupid!!

  3. Get rid of those overpaid stars and bring players who play with grit and sandpaper. Trade Andersen Matthews Marner and Nylander. Fire Dubas!!!!

  4. Mitch Marner ain't going nowhere. The Leafs ain't going nowhere too. Kinda of figures. Who's going somewhere all the rest of players are eligible except Nylander, Tavaras and Mathews. Here's the problem. The Leafs last year moved out quite alot of players and instead of getting better they got worse. You bring a lot of new players and remove the expendable players except the aforementioned top 4 which you insist on keeping. The result will be the same or maybe worse. Nobody will perform on a team where they cannot grow as a player and most important be restricted financially due to the Diva boys grabbing all the money on the team. Who,s got to go? Dubas got to go, he is responsible for bad team management and financial misteps. .Also no player in any sport should be made bigger than the team, the game, or the fans. Most teams may have one player like that. Toronto has 4 players like that. You are paid to produce , produce no excuses. Cant help feeling Shannahan has something to do with this from behind the scenes. If that is the case, he got to go also.

  5. I'm sorry, but Korpisalo and Carter Hart would both get lit up like Christmas trees playing for the Leafs. And saying "If Carey Price was in the Leafs net" is like saying, well if the Leafs had Victor Hedman. Not really reasonable to compare Andersen to arguably the best goalie of his generation, and suggest that as a reason he should leave Toronto.

  6. Toronto is all kinds of fucked. If you look at Boston, the highest paid player atm is Krejci at 7.2 million and he is UFA in 2021-22. Then you have Toronto with THREE contracts over 10 million. Where the earliest one is UFA in 2024-25. Toronto has a starstruck GM that wants to rely on star power instead of creating a team that is better than the sum of its parts.

I went through the top 20 paid players in the NHL and on that list Toronto has three players and they are out of the playoffs. LAK and CHI share second place with the most players in that list and they both have 2 each. On that list 9 of the teams have either been eliminated from the playoffs or never got there in the first place, 2 of them are one game away from elimination (CAP and MTL), Caps have to win 3 in a row and Montreal has to win 2 in a row in order to make it to round 2. Only 3 of the teams on the list have made it to round 2. St.Louis doesn't show up until nr 46 with Tarasenko at 7.5 until 2023-24 and Boston doesn't show up until nr 50 with Krejci. So its obvious that big players with big contracts don't win championships.

Toronto does not have good weather, they have insane media scrutiny and worst of all they have a history of being a bad team. The only reason for a player to go there is if you are good enough you get treated like the messiah(until they see you aren't able to carry the entire team alone) and get a huuuuge payout. THAT is why Toronto will never ever ever ever win the Stanley Cup until they change their ways drastically.

  7. They go to the bank because they don’t know what do do with all of those over payments , maybe they can spend some of it on a heart .Team is garbage , You want to fix it , fire Dubas ,get a GM that actually understands what it takes to build a complete cup contending team.
