After Wednesday’s game, their final 4 pre-season games are:
Fri. Sept. 30th @ Ottawa
Mon. Oct. 3rd @ Montreal
Fri. Oct. 7th @ Detroit
Sat. Oct. 8th vs. Detroit
The season opener ofc is Wed. Oct. 12th @ Montreal.

With there being quite a few days between the Habs game on Oct. 3rd and the first Detroit game on the 7th, you’d expect many of the lines, 2nd PP unit, etc. all to be largely decided upon.
Clearly, the main roster is only going to play one in of those final two games against the Red Wings, so those two games in Ottawa and Montreal are pretty crucial for guys on the bubble looking to draw into the line-up come opening night, or depth players hoping to solidly a spot in the middle 6. Not many better opportunities for the time being unless ofc there are injuries.
