    I'd like to see a veteran goalie. I think this season proved that the Vanecek/Samsonov experiment failed. Trade the rights to one of them. And then I'd like to see the youth get a chance. Connor McMichael didn't see enough ice time and I'd like to see Hendrix Lapierre. Letting Kempny and Schultz go while bringing up Alexeyev and Johansen. They need to get younger with their skaters.

    we definatly need a veteran goalie, id like to keep vanacheck as the backup but if thats not possible then samsonov as the backup would work. We also need young players.

    If someone told me before the start of the series, that Capitals would take two games from Panthers, I would've considered it a respectable outcome. However, from what I have seen myself, and heard from others (since I obviously couldn't watch every game), this could have been even better.
    Anyway, hope Caps can retool a bit and also get younger during the summer. However, a full/proper rebuild won't happen until Ovechkin and Backstrom are gone. Then there will be some cruel seasons ahead…

    Caps missed the empty net goal to seal the game in game 4 was a turning point in this series.

    A veteran goalie and some more depth scoring. In addition, clamp down on D working with all caps defensemen weather offensive or defensive based. Also, Blaine Forsythe needs to go. His terribly run power play during the regular season and underwhelming power play during the series offset Scotty Arniel’s amazing penalty kill in the regular season and perfect performance during the series.

    As a Panthers fan, I just hope Toronto & Tampa have a bloodbath that goes to like triple OT. A very competitive & physical game 7 where both teams are basically killing each other on every shift (not that I’d wish an injury on any player but facing a team a bit more banged up than yours wouldn’t hurt) instead of thinking over which team I’d rather face.

    As a caps fan, our biggest shortcoming this season has been our goaltending. We need an experienced netminder. Ever since we lost Holtby, our goalies kind of have been very streaky or iffy.

    Weird story: my grandma’s sister (great-aunt, I think) runs the girl course that Connor Sheary grew up playing on. She said that he and his friends all played hockey together, and even when they all went their separate ways regarding skill, they still were great friends. Hockey is a game that creates bonds like this, and I just wanted to share examples of hockey bringing more than just physical activity.

    As a caps fan I really wouldn’t do anything big. Honestly our days of being a top contender are done so we really should just focus on small moves to stay in the playoffs and maybe have a miracle run. I really don’t think there’s a point in trading picks and prospects to get an older player because it wouldn’t make much of a difference and it would just make a rebuild that much worse. I really hope our young guys get more of a chance next year because they could answer some of our questions.

    The capitals need a veteran goaltender, we keep on going back between Vanecek and Samsonov so none of the goalies got a real good chance to be the main goalie, we also need some better younger players as our older players such as Ovi, Backstrom and Carlson and just all the ones that have been with the capitals for a while are not playing at their best anymore since they're getting older so we need some younger guys to play, this year the capitals also just got unlucky with all the injuries a lot of our good players were got injured and that did not help us out at all, otherwise everything else was fine such as the coaching etc

    Panthers are 0-18 on power plays. Caps played good defense short-handed. No team ever is 0-18 good. Panthers need to clean that up.

    Caps had a perfect penalty-kill. Has any other team lost a series while going 100% a man down? Sad, but also a legit question.

    as a Florida fan i think samsonov played absolutely phenomenal i was shaking in my boots in g4 when we needed a goal to tie and one to win tbh samsonov was better than bob 👽 i think now if the panthers get through tampa they will go the distance, if tampa wins sadly i think they will also go the distance

    Caps fan chiming in here! I was at game 4 and the caps messed up because they played too conservative. Kuzy scored with 10 to go in the third. We stopped hitting and applying pressure and just sat back and let them attack for the last 10 minutes which was never going to work with our current defense. I didn’t think we were outplayed other then a few periods in the series I honestly think we were the better team. Florida was clinical when we were not and that led to our downfall in my opinion.
