  4. This game is referenced in the film version of Mordecai Richler's novel "Barney's Version." Barney (Paul Giamatti) seems more interested in the game than in his wedding reception, even though his bride looks like Minnie Driver. He ends up running into Rue Ste-Catherine to join the raucous celebration… and divorcing her for Rosamund Pike.

I just barely remember this Canadien team. They showed me how the game is meant to be played. And as a New Jerseyan, I say, "Merci, Jacques Lemaire."

  5. LEMAIRE!!!! (nice pass by Al Sims to Lafleur. Did he get credited with a 2nd assist?)
I think this was Clarence Campbell's last cup presentation. Ziegler took over afterwards.

  7. FUCK the dogshit Canadiens, its OVER for them, diving MFers!, BRUINS CHAMPS 2011, BRUINS RULE!

  9. in a best of seven series the 1977 Montreal Canadiens would have demolished the Czech National Team..please be serious

  10. Look at the Bruins storm off before the handshakes bunch of sore losers and poor sports. I'm glad the Canadiens won this but this game was super boring it was on the Montreal Canadiens dvd set and the pace of the game was slow and the Boston fans weren't into it.

  11. I'm a Bruins fans i will say we have had bad blood since the 1950s had some great teams but just could never get past them. Early 1970s had Bobby Orr ,Phil Esposito ,ken hodge ,derek sanderson wayne cashmen john bucyk one if not the greatest Bruins teams of all time and still can't beat them

  12. im a diehard bruins fan…but kinda BS cheevers left without shaking hands. andy moog did the same thing against buffalo in 93. pretty dissapointing.

  13. Greatest team to skate on ANY ice surface EVER.

    Go Habs Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Look for Gilles Lupien wearing #31 for the Canadiens in the on-ice celebration. He had been called up from the Nova Scotia Voyageurs of the AHL, but hadn't yet seen any NHL action, didn't play in this game, and wasn't credited with playing in his first NHL game until the following season.

  15. The good old days when hockeu was for the fans.u c all the kids that jumped the wall to watch the canadisns skate the puck.and nobod y bothet them
