You can't analyze Defenders based of NHL website generic stat page, it leaves out like 90% of Defenders stats. You don't NEED goals from your defenders, you need DEFENSE. Some of Carlsson's notable stats: 40 GP, 39 Hits (about one a game, not Gudas but plays a physical game, numbers will increase if he gets more ice time, averages below Weegar and Gudas). 29 Blocked Shots, 7 Takeaways, 12 Giveaways. His takeaways -> games played has me worried. Idk how much Defense we can get out of Carlsson but he plays a way more Physical game than Forsling. My biggest worry with players who prioritize physicality above defending with the stick, don't miss.. you miss, we're in trouble.

AS for defence – it's not bad. 2019-2020 was bad – it was bad on paper and it was a joke on the ice. Bob experienced what bad is. The thing is current D core is just average – no true Top dman alike (JOsi, Makar, Headman), just average and a new coach. it's not bad on paper, it might be decent on the ice.
I don't think our D will be bad, just good on paper. Not elite, or great just good. 3/5, BUT! And this is a huge but…we know Maurice's whole message was blocking shots, smart hockey, more defensive hockey. Does that bump us to maybe a 4/5 on the ice? Maybe. If the coaching is good I think we COULD be a 4/5, but 3/5 is where I am until then.
Eric: ONE OF YOUR BEST VIDEOS!!! Thank you! Some thoughts about the Offensive. Of the players we have, in general, I really think you are going to see MORE production out of all of them, not less. I wouldn't trade Bennett any more than I would trade Lundell. I think in the next few years, his scoring is going to be similar to Reinhart, Verhaeghe, Duclair. Plus he gives some grit to whatever line he plays on and he can take face offs. Watching games from last season, TWICE I heard non-Panthers announcers say something similar to "What was Calgary thinking when they traded Bennett?". There is something to be said for chemistry amongst players, and I think Bennett is in the right place. And I think it is also why Tippett WASN'T with the right players, and he will bloom elsewhere. Also, I think the competition for the O-team spots is HEALTHY, and I think we are going to see a lot of line up shuffling just like we did last year with Thorton, Lomberg, Vatrano. The Panthers peaked too early last year. If you have the talent, give top players a rest more often. In terms of Duclair: THERE ARE GOING TO BE OTHER INJURIES, so I don't think you have to fix anything right now. Wait and see, and if you have to trade at the deadline, so be it. But sometmes u can have your cake and eat it too. Just my 2 cents.

Awesome video bro. I need to preface this comment by saying fuck the other hockey channels on you tube, and all the so called "experts ". They don't watch Cats hockey and they don't know shit about our team. You, Stu, myself , and all your subs watch every game. So we actually know what we are talking about. Forsling is better than Weegar, he's a budding superstar. Carllsonn is a solid D man, he needs ice time. Giroux didn't do dick, March isn't Gretzky. Balcers, White , and Letchvi replace that production blindfolded. Also added Cousins, who's a damn good hockey player. If one of our young kids makes team, and one or both of the Staal brothers look good, I believe this team is better than last years.
Umm, Balcers had 11 goals in 60 games. On a team that resembles your dogs bowel movement. He scoring 20 this season. Guaranteed.
Balcers, White, and Letchvi produce like I think they gonna. Then we swap Duke and Horny to Anaheim for Klinberg. He's on a one year contract and Ducks are going nowhere fast.
I have reached a point where I don't care what other fan bases think of our team, especially Calgary fans. They just want to hate and find areas where they think from watching everyone else what our team's problems are so they can feel like they are so much superior since deep down they know they lost a lot. Only Florida fans who dare I say watched at least 5 games last season know what the true problems are. Whenever people are so vocal about how much we suck and how much better their team is it really shows their own insecurities, if a team really sucked, like Arizona or Philly, then it wouldn't need to be said in the first place but they will do whatever it takes to make them feel better because they know we are still pretty good, and will be for a while.
I think the operative word here is "PO-tential" Panthers have the PO-tential to be the team to beat (again). Panthers are historically a slow starting team (which can lead to hysteria among the fan base) Have to remember we're like Phil on the Flex Tape commercials "but, wait! there's more". This year is like 1st year chemistry lab…have to figure out what goes together without blowing something up. Sooooo looking forward to this season…new coach…new mindset…going to get some swagger…going to go get the CUP. Just sayin' 🤗
Good content,disagree on marchman tho,sure he's skilled,but also one concussion away from ending his career. I see max mamin as the bigger loss. Agree bigtime that the panthers need some of the younger guys to step up into bigger contributions during the season.
I find it funny how you always forget we have Tkachuk. Its ok i do the same. Sam Reinhart will get 100 points this season….my bold prediction.
Anyone got so far any firm facts about the actual lines coming for the first games? What is the first moves by Maurice…before Zito may have to kick him out? Obvious thing about this season is that Zito won´t do The Brunette Thing once again. Paul Maurice just has to be really good from the start to end. Lot´s of pressure in there. If Zito shits this season too the easy time to grow as General Manager in the sun will be quickly over with Zito.
