tage is a 97 born, and look at him now.. you need to give players time. buffalo has a bright future, especially with guys like tage who WANTS to be there.
This contract is concerning to some, but I think it sends a great message to the younger talent in Buffalo. It shows them that they will get rewarded for hard work and positive development. Buffalo is a different place than it was only two years ago. It's a place to call home.
I would have liked to see Thompson get a contract with incentives in it, ( I'm not saying it will be but, what if Thompson is just going to be so – so the rest of the way ?)) Giving skinner that 9 mil a year for 8 years was insane, especially when skinner is averaging 23 goals a season while with Buffalo.

The cap is expected to explode in the next 2-3 years once the NHL and the NHLPA have recovered the losses from the two shortened seasons. This contract will age just fine in my opinion.

I forget what game, but there was a stat this past season about all NHL forwards 6'8" (or whatever Tage is, 6'7" maybe?) and above. I wanna say this was around his 25th goal, maybe 30th? Anyway. The stat had him at something like 1/5th the total number of games by all the other tall Fs…..and he had something like the same total G and like 1/2 the A, already!! And he's still getting better, especially as a C. I'm really happy we signed him and that he loves it here and wants to be a part of the changes he talked about. Dude's a beast and he's gonna be a fine C for a good, long time!
