It is crazy how in the preseason teams will have goalies playing who are not even good enough to be the starter of the AHL team. I do not say that to disrespect the Avs but I mean in general. I do not mean a younger player the team is giving a shot to either just to see what is there now. I am talking older goalies who do not deserve the opportunity like Aaron Dell on the Sharks and Martin Jones of the Kraken.
I would rather throw a dart at a wall of goalie free agents 18 to 25 and have way better odds to find something. I know many preseason goalies get fired or demoted to the AHL when the reg season starts but I still do not think teams should waste that opportunity.
