  1. this guy is the kyrie of hockey, minus the flat earth stuff… i really hope he goes to boston 🙂

  2. As a Winnipeger I don’t blame him Lolol jk however as long as wheeler and mark stay put; this type of thing will continue……… havent we been through this before lol? Hmmm 🤔

  3. we'll take him in montreal once we get rid of all the dead wood , price byron drouin hoffman we have plenty of money to pay him

  4. PLD wants to test the FA market, that doesn't mean he actually wants out. His Dad works with the Moose, he said he likes the city, fans and players. If a teams offers PLD more money than the Jets of course he's not staying. But I would trade when we have the time because I'm tired of losing our stars for nothing.

  5. knew this was gonna happen when he got here, yes he’s good but he’s not our best player. i think we should get rid of him

  6. I think he actually did the honourable thing by letting the jets know. Imagine if he said nothing and then bolted

  7. Was waiting for PLD to sign a big contract before buying the jersey. No way I’ll be getting one even if he changes his mind

  8. I think this way of players wanting change is a new way of thinking. Players are valuing their preferences of places they want to play, players who they want to play with and coaching teams they want to be coached by. Same way that Matthew’s and Marner signing their way to potentially UFA, is a new way of players being smarter and wanting more power in their decisions.

  9. Yet another ego-inflated selfish man who was told all his life that he is special because he happens to be good at skating and at handling a stick and now he believes that the world owes him everything. This is without a doubt the most disgusting part of professional sport. There is something inherently wrong with how those kids are handled during their teenage years.

  10. In a year the Canucks got screwed again at the draft spot selection falling to #5, PLD was projected to go to the Canucks that year 😂 those 2 drafts probably set the Canucks back 5 years. The real question is what are now considered “the Linden years” 🤭

  11. Legos fine with Fox doing a very similar thing, but when its not Fox he's fine with it? bit of a hypocrisy. As he said before, players have the right to choose where they go, what changed? he'll be UFA, and he'll leave, problem now?

  12. It's his right, testing the free agent market is an opportunity that he can take, nobody can tell him sh*t for that. It's not like his pulling a douche move like Tavares did, he will be traded and Winnipeg will move on, Laine would not have signed there anyway…

  13. I normally side with players on their own employment decisions but when you play a team sport, there isn't much room for selfishness. It's one thing to have a situation occur naturally where a player wants out. It's another for that player to essentially do that at every level and every team he goes to. I think it's a tell about his priorities and maybe he feels entitled to be on a winning team. But for all I know he hates Winnipeg or something that I have no clue about because I'm a fan of hockey living in the south eastern US.

  14. If Montreal gets PLD you don’t need to draft wright, you can take slaf. You’d have a very solid 2 lines

  15. Nba players would get no flak for this. He can say what he wants and handle his upcoming ufa status the way he wants.

  16. I don’t blame players for wanting a say so on where they play. It was negotiated into the CBA on purpose so guys could cash out before their prime was over.

That being said, the Central is in an interesting boat overall. If Forsberg walks away from Nashville they probably should consider a rebuild too. Winnipeg is in the exact same spot, they have toxic roots and need to dump them, and how do you do that without your return being hurt.

Honestly I would ask him what three locations he wants and go from there. There is a huge market for centers currently and the fact Dubois can play wing as well. I don’t want to say this feels like Tony DeAngelo again or even Ryan Merkley but at the same time you know something is off by the way people act with said player around. Which is becoming a trend as of late.

Jets, Preds, Stars, even Chicago could use it, and if Winnipeg really wants the rebuild they can move all the pieces they want. Could fix the Oilers goal tending. Could round out secondary scoring.

And again I don’t blame him, but the optics behind this look just awful. This is gonna be the second most drama filled situation since Winnipeg came back.

The haul Winnipeg could get would be astronomical and accelerate their return to cup contender. And you know teams like the Capitals and Bruins are licking their lips to try and make a move like that.

  17. montreal stay away from this player let him rot away his potential . So what if he is good now . you do not want cancer in your dressing room it infects and festers

  18. Finally!…a player that wants to go to Montreal. It took a while, folks.
But, finally we are in a moment where we can celebrate !

  19. I think the game needs more personality and players should be allowed to express themselves. I hate the whole “team sport and players need to be more reserved” I think that’s the problem with the the nhl not growing the way other games do. It’s so annoying watching interviews and players give the same answers that everyone else does. I like when players express themselves and show personality. Not to say you can’t play on a team but the nhl would get so much more publicity if players expressed themselves more. Look at players like PK Subban, all I’m saying is it annoys me when people think nhl players need to be more reserved. Idk what’s wrong with a guy saying I wanna be a free agent, why can’t a guy voice what he’s thinking? There’s no law that says he can’t why can’t a guy say he doesn’t want to play for a team?

  20. The guy's a massive snob. He'll play out his contract, screw over his home team, go to whoever pays most and poison that team's room as well. Trade him now.

  21. PLD is a great player, but I think he really wants to play for Montreal. Man must be really close to his family and being this far is hard for him. I don’t see this as an attitude problem but if he really wants to land in Montreal, he won’t get the big money. MTL won’t give him a Suzuki kind of deal. Also, Winnipeg is in big trouble, PLD is the kind of player you want to sign long term but teams might be afraid to trade for this guy since he won’t sign with them in 2 years. As I said, not an attitude problem but Winnipeg is now in a terrible spot

  22. If the Habs decide to pull off a deal for PLD before the draft, then I suspect that they will most likely select Slavkofsky instead of Wright, given the crowd of 1st line Centers that they would end up with. Given those options, I personally hope that they select Shane Wright instead of adding PLD.
Also, this is certainly a trade request/demand and now any team willing to trade for PLD will only pull the trigger if PLD agrees to a longer term (4-5 yrs minimum). Given that there is no way out of salary cap purgatory for the Habs in the near future (before the '23 trade deadline), I doubt the Habs can pull this off.

  23. The whole " …because you traded Patrik Laine for him " is going to force WPG to make an unfavorable deal with PLD . That is one of the worst reasons to keep/increase the pay of a player but people are so afraid of taking an L; they'll end up doing things that are far more stupid.

  24. Seems like not many want to be in Winnipeg. Byfuglien quit, the head coach quit, scheifele has one foot out the door and now this…

  25. Well he is being honest and telling the organization he wants
To test the weather waters. But the habs won’t trade for him if they can get him in 2024 for free

  26. Screw that guy, I don't want him in Montreal. I hope he gets booed by Peg fans.

  27. It’s people like this who don’t deserve to be in the nhl shut your mouth and play or retire don’t be a baby and stay stupid things and I’m not a Winnipeg fan but it should be like that for him and anyone else be professional and shut up

  28. Evander Kane, Jack Roslovic, Jacob Trouba, Patrik Laine, Pierre-Luc Dubois. When are they gonna trade Wheeler and Scheifele. It’s rumoured that Kane was bullied by Ladd and Wheeler, Laine was bullied by Wheeler and Scheifele. It’s not a coincidence when all these players want out, they need to get rid of Wheeler.
