Gives Pens cap relief. Devils stronger on defense. Could take Penguins out of the running to possibly land JT Miller because Marino was one of the guys Vancouver was interested in getting
this is a long shot but what if new jersey aquired marino because they know that vancouver desperately wants young right hand dman and now they can package him along with big 21 year old forward nolan foote… plus pick to vancouver for jt miller. new jersey would need to be able to sign jt miller to long term contract to make it work..i like foote but i could see swedish gm of canucks asking for holtz instead and new jersey refusing…if it where marino and foote nj would probably need to throw in 2nd round pick

Being a penguin's fan I'm a little heartbroken but I do like Ty Smith.
Devils could have got more for Smith..great young player..would have kept Smith.. W-for the pens
Starting to see cracks in the Penguins. From a Red Wing fan, it is about time! The Penguins are starting to look like they are trying to hang on, in the run for the playoffs. Do it too long and the rebuild can be painful.

Awesome! Was hoping Ottawa wouldn’t trade for Marino and this makes sure Pierre doesn’t trade away any of young RD prospects. Don’t even think Ottawa needs another dman. Thomson, JBD, Brannstrom or Kleven Can battle it out for that last spot
