    I think the re-draft is to benefit Arizona. If they didn't re-draft that, "win" would count towards one of the two times a team can win in 5 years. I wouldn't want to have that, "win" be burned on a forefeited pick and I'm thinking that would be overkill on the punishment side in Bettman's view.

    The irony of Arizona winning the lottery and not having the pick….ouch!! If the NHL does indeed decide to redo the lottery then it must also affect the rest of the teams in it, so if you're Detroit and you've finally got a bit of justice and are going second only to be told that because "we can't have the coyotes drafting first because they've forfitted that pick" and the whole thing is done again and instead of a default first pick you end up picking at 9 or something like that, that's going to be a very bitter pill to swallow, and IMHO, morally wrong. If Arizona wins the lottery then the forfeited pick stands at 1. The punishment would certainly be seen as harsh but no one would do anything like that again for sure. As usual Bettman is making it up as he goes along…..

  18. Did the Coyotes Lose?

    This is just pain, I've been a Yotes fan since the late 2000s-early 2010s and John Chayka really screwed us up. We've had bad lotto luck so I wouldn't be surprised if we had good lotto luck the one time we don't even get to use our 1st round pick. I really hope Armstrong doesn't re-sign most of our defenseman that are going to be FAs and hopefully he finds a way to get rid of OEL and fires Tocchet too. After losing twice to San Jose and with St. Louis ahead and with 3 games in hand there's probably a less than 5% chance we make the playoffs. I hope the team is better in the future, Chychrun has looked good and we have some other young guys that seem promising too, we'll just have to see.

    The Coyotes didn't have a 1st-rounder (Taylor Hall meant the Devils got it), 2nd-rounder (forfeited), 3rd-rounder (to Calgary via the Avs and Caps), or a 4th-rounder (well, they used it, but then renounced the rights to the pick) in 2020 either! At least they have a decent 2nd-rounder (from Columbus via Ottawa). I'm surprised they didn't trade anyone away for a first.

    Welp, at least the SUNS are good again. Ugh, I just want the COYOTES to have a bright future for once. We've been a mess for a while, it's crazy to see how everything off the ice affects the team on the ice. It can only go up from here…right? RIGHT?! Please, God, help us.
