I really like that jersey! That logo and those colors are the ones I watched growing up. However, it would be cool to have some purple in it, like in the 2000s. I'm one of the few that don't like purple and yellow for the Kings. Reverse Retro is OK, but it would be much nicer in 2000s colors.
I agree! if they did a white or yellow version of the reverse retro or the purple/black jerseys, I'd be totally down to buy another LA jersey

Im full game for the kings to rebrand back to the early 2000s. Those were some of the most legendary jerseys in NHL history, imo

As I type this I'm enjoying the Canucks/Oilers game and I cont to notice that the Canucks appear to be using their away jerseys from last season (white shoulder patches on their away white jerseys)…Aren't the new Primegreen supposed to have blue patches on the Canucks away jerseys?
It seems the Kings are taking a lot from the Henderson Silver Knights – chrome helmets, silver on the jersey.
I just wish they would bring back purple. There's a reason people no longer watch black & white TVs. Color is a good thing.
Honestly, while I wish they had purple in their look, for an all black, white, silver jersey I think it is pretty clean.
The jersey is fine it’s cool, but why another white version? I already have that third jersey, I’m not buying this one just because of the shiny silver. Come on can’t they just give us the black jersey with shiny silver? Just like the sharks giving us another teal jersey when we want the white one

Maybe in the minority but I think the king’s current branding is really good ! Black/Silver is such a stylish look. I prefer having the LA shield then the slanted “KINGS” wordmark too.

The original design processes would have starred a year prior to the release date of the jerseys then the final design selection process starts 6 mouths before the release of the jerseys.
This is how it works for football shirts ( Soccer) so I would think that the prosses in terms of time scale would be about the same for a year Adidas designers will brainstorm then 6 mouths out they will narrow down the designs to say 6 then 4 then 2 then the final choice will be made over a 2 week period of time the production go's in to effect.
The Pandemic made it a lot harder to get hold of all kinds of fabric for a year The Hockey Guy made a vlog on this about a year ago roughly.
So Adidas would of found it difficult to actually get the quantity & colours of fabric need for the Manufacturering of jerseys full stop.
It's likely that this is why the reverse retros where of limited availability & black silver & white would of been easier for Adidas to get hold of than yellow & purple as they are not manufactured in as much quantity.
some colours are easier to produce fabrics wise than others & cheaper aswll to fo so for example black , green , white, red & blue are easy to produce.
But yellow, orange & purple are hardier to produce and harder to get the colour consistent in terms of shades.
This is my understanding from reading up & talking to others.

The Kings, and really all California sports teams in general have to get their you know what together. They’re constantly changing their brands and cities and logos and designs because there’s no solid fan base/following (compared to a team like the Flyers or Rangers). And yeah, when I saw this, I said to myself why? Isn’t that already one of their jerseys? Dear California sports teams, stick with something and go with it!!!

Kings had metal fleck in their uni's back during their purple/black/white era. Glad they're bringing it back (its also on the piping for their primegreen homes)
For me this logo is the best they got in their arsenal so I'm happy for that. I'm also OK with the colors i guess. But one thing I never like is when the striping on the socks mismatch with the striping on the sleeve!

The crazy thing for me: even EA Sports, in the NHL Video Games, put a lot of purple (sorry, forum blue !) and gold in the public clothes ! And they look better than the most of the stuff they are acutally selling (but it's just my opinion) !

As for the jersey, if they're not using the crown as the main logo, could they at least use it as a shoulder patch?? would break up all the white on the shoulders a bit. dont think i will be buying this at full price, will wait for it to go on sale in the future.
I really would love to see the kings do some jerseys like they had in the early 2000's with the purple and black and the crown/coat of arms. The silver and black was good but has just gotten a bit boring.
Kings added the silver fleck to their main black home jerseys as well. On the front and back stripes, and the stripes at the elbows. Also on the silver spot around the back of the neck
The outline of the logo is also different with only the white/black stroke.

I like the idea behind the jersey, may or may not go after it. I’d like to see a purple version of the “silver” jersey with gold thrown in too. I hope they don’t move in the direction of keeping it though. It is a nice “throwback” sort of its own reverse retro
LA was doing the shiny, sparkly silver before Vegas was even a team. LA is the OG
It’s been said that the black and silver came about to represent the Raiders when they used to be in LA. The Kings also had the purple and gold. I did believe to represent the LA Lakers. I ‘m a longtime time hockey fan and for me it’s the purple and gold with the King’s crown. But I do like the current jersey.
Chrome helmets are dumb… SO dumb. Never liked the Chevrolet emblem rip off either. Agreed, the shiny crap is for Vegas. Ugh, what a mess… bring back the purple and yellow!
