  1. Wings need to make a decent push for the playoffs during Raymond and Seider's first contracts before getting their massive pay raises. A better second line center and a couple solid 3rd or 4th d-men would really benefit them.

  2. I personally want to say no. Purely based on being hurt before. This seems eerily similar to both Frans Neilsen and Stephen Weiss.

  3. Always been a big fan of Trochek. Wouldn’t hate him coming back to Detroit. He played youth hockey here and would fit in nicely.

  4. If the wings are going to be spending $ in free agency it should be on a 2-3 year contract for an experienced D-man and/or goalie. Wings have a decent forward core but allow way too many points! The 5 million a year that Danny D takes off the books will leave a hole and cap space. Don't forget Jonathan B is coming up next year as well in the forward core.

  5. Big problem, ESPN+/HULU likes to black out Red Wings games! No Bally's feed for the Red Wings tonight. Unless there is a Spanish language broadcast of the game, we aren't going to see it in Detroit. Way to go NHL! Unless the Red Wings make some free agent/trade moves, they aren't going to make the play offs in 2022-2023.

  6. Trochek would be a great addition if it happens. Talent and grit. Seems like that's what Yzerman is looking for these days.

  7. Hey Lego,
Can you make a video on The Athletic article that just dropped about Eugene Melnyk? I’d like to hear your perspective.

  8. How dare you throw the Hat trick in there lmao that would be such a red wings thing to do though fml

  9. Vinny takes the home team deal and gets 5.5 for 4. He's said multiple times he wants to stay it just comes down to getting the deal done

  10. Coming from a guy who's seen this kid play junior hockey in my hometown of saginaw this would be an absolute game changer nedelijkovic get your boy in detroit

  11. Trochek would be an ideal fit here. He could center the 2nd line and really give the Wings some quality scoring depth.

  12. I love Trocheck. I used to watch him play in Plymouth when they were competing for the J Ross Robertson during his run. The guy on that team that impressed me most, Austin Levi, is no longer an NHL prospect and fell pretty far, but Nedeljkovic and Trocheck and Noesen and a few other guys are still kicking. I fell in love with him then, and now he’s a solid NHL player and I’d love to see him return to the Detroit area. Tom Wilson was also on that team and I’d love to see him here, not to mention Rickard Rakell and Connor Carrick were also members.

  13. I would love if Trocheck signed in Detroit he would fit in as a nice second line center behind Larkin

  14. I’m a Canes fan and I run a Canes blog site. I do previews and reviews for every canes game. Have done for over a decade. This description of Trocheck is way off.

Trocheck isn’t good defensively. He’s probably the worst center on the Canes in his own zone. The only reason he gets so much deployment is because he’s right handed and Stepan is often not dressed.

Trocheck’s best quality is the fact he’s a pest. He’s an agitator, and he’s very good at it. He’s driven Marchand up the wall already with the hole Pruis-Lambo thing.

You also mention Trocheck’s slowing down. That’s just not true. He had an awful start to the season playing with two line mates that couldn’t hit a barn door. Necas has been unable to hit the broadside of a barn so Trocheck’s been fully dependent on powerplay performance.

This also works on the basis Carolina aren’t bringing him back. Seravalli reported months ago that they were in talks and they’re getting closer. He’s important as the only top six quality right shot center. That’s why they got him in the first place.

Furthermore, if Trocheck is offered the same pay check in Carolina and Detroit, why would he go to a new city given he’s a fan favorite in Carolina, and he can come back if he costs 6 million for less than 5 years? Cap isn’t an issue for Carolina. They Can bring everyone back. If they do is the other option. This isn’t like Fiala where he’s almost certain to be on the move. There’s about a 50/50 chance right now he could stay.

  15. I hate to say it, but 28 right now is a bit old for what I think Yzerman has in mind as a realistic timeline. Were he to do this, it would be because he has to put a team on the ice while he builds via the draft. It would not be done with an eye to the playoffs. Nobody is safe on the current Detroit roster except Seider and maybe Raymond. That is particularly true of left overs from the past regime. Everyone is on the trading block and should be. I would not be surprised to see him deal a few pieces in the off season that some may question. This team can be entertaining, but it is not playoff capable. They need way too many pieces, particularly on defense. Getting quality at the right price comes via the draft, not free agency. Yzerman wants draft capital. He wants "his" team on the ice. By that I mean people he has drafted or has dealt for. When he has "his" team on the ice, they will be championship quality. Think 24-25 season, when they should be very competitive. That is how I see it playing out, but I could be dead wrong more easily than being correct.

  16. Solid vids, but you repeat so much stuff over and over and over. Easily a 5 min video. Max. You'll get more views and grow your channel better. Blashill change not needed, solid coach, not good enough players. Who replaces him and how can they better maximize the roster? No one. No need for Trochek, they are better off to do worse than better. Trochek would likely get shorter term which is better in the end but not a massive upgrade (which in the end might be better to get them to the floor but not overly better)

  17. I think Max really appreciates you not screen shotting his work.

  18. Only problem is I don't see Don Waddell picking up Yzerman's calls due to prior negotiations.

  19. We need a 1-2 veteran D (in their early 30s) to teach rookies like like moritz evidsson and lindstom how you're supposed to play, and we really badly need a number 1 center 7-9M a season type.

  20. update your information blashills not signed not fired 🤷‍♂️he’s gonna use his prospects in the system before taking on somebody’s contract just to add players on this team 🤷‍♂️could be wrong but I get my information from the horses mouth Stevie himself 🤔👍
