Commentaires ci-dessous! 1. If the islanders did this because they missed the playoffs it definitely wasn’t the coach’s fault that they didn’t go

  2. Reminds me of Gallant at the curb 22 games into the season after Panthers made the playoffs. We will gladly take him, please & thank you.

  3. Zach Parise always played hard never really gave up on a play so I think keeping him was a good decision but not trading any players. Islanders need to trade the old vets it’s sad to see them go but we need younger players. Firing Trotz who got the Isles back to back ECF it’s such a bad decision. I’m scared that the Isles are going to be back in the dark ages.

  4. Barry was the problem and issue 💯should've played our youth and NOT trade draft stock and capital for graveyard players past their prime. Lou is on the hot seat too…Barzal and Whaly are going to great careers now,,Barry stop holding back the younger players, you've done this your whole coaching career,, at least if he went to Detroit he'd be forced to play the younger players,,,this is GREAT !!!! Let's Go Islanders!!!!

  5. I've been telling our fan base from the start of the year that Lou miscalculated keeping this roster intact and making 'one more run' with it. They didn't have the ability to beat Tampa two years running in the Finals, in spite of going 6 & 7 games respectively with them. Tampa was clearly the better team if you watched the games. Barry's 'problems' with the players is a different story here, even though it is the story we're all focusing on. Lou botched it for sure, but there also seems to be an internal strife between Trotz and certain players. If so, we only 'fixed' one big problem, and now Lou needs to show why he still belongs here.

  6. I'm a fan of the Leafs, and I've got to say, this news saddens me. The games between the Leafs and Isles have always been fun to watch. Trotz is an incredible coach who got dealt a shit hand in the last few years. A lack of discipline from the Vets, overvalued baggage, and a lack of young balls-to-the-wall energy. I really hope that Trotz lands himself a good job with a team that will appreciate what he brings to the table. The Wings could use him, and badly. The Flyers, the Yotes, even the Ducks could use some more solid coaching behind the bench.

  7. Trotz is a really good hc except with younger players…Wahlstrom, Barzal, and now we have Salo and Raty incoming…can't have them all sitting on the bench munching hot dogs. Parise played all 82 and managed 15 and 20 from a mostly non productive third line for 750k, they have a term for that….Bargain! You don't think much of Ross Johnston…who do you think will start on the 4th line when Clutterbuck and Martin are sitting in the therapy room?

  8. You Know That Something Is Wrong When Rangers Fans, Who Liked And Respected Barry Trottz, Are Upset As Much As Islanders Fans That He Got Fired. That Says It All.

  9. Nothing new with Lou. Look at his record of firing coaches with the Devils. His most bizarre was firing Robbie Ftorek with 9 games left in the 2000 season. They won the cup that year.

  10. The owners should have had the sense to stop Lou and fire him. Lou is egotistical. Had he been the Islanders GM in 1979, he would have fired Al Arbour. You have to worry that the owners don't understand what is going on with their team with all these big contracts that Lou handed out.

  11. In the end firing Trotz not really a surprise as Lou is a major head case – FIRE LOU !!!
