  1. Amirov is such a unfortunate story. Who knows wether he’ll ever get to the NHL. I’d consider Dryden McKay as a top 3 prospect in the system. Although he’s signed with Marlies he’s likely not going anywhere. But a Hobey Baker award winner is a nice get for Toronto.

  2. The latest on Rodion Amirov is that he is recovering and hopes for a return to the ice in November. Brain tumors are very dangerous and without knowing more about his diagnosis, it is difficult to predict an outcome. However he is a long way from "out of the woods". While we all hope for the best for him, I can't understand why you would have him on this list – he's likely a long shot to ever play over here. And to echo the other respondent … Nic Robertson? He's only played 16 games in the NHL. He qualifies as an NHL rookie until he's played 25 games. Sounds like a prospect to me.

  3. Did you not watch World Juniors? Knies basically didn't show up – if he's #1 there's not much competition and not a deep pool. Leafs are not solid at all on draft picks and prospects, so future is not great, especially if Matthews leaves in 2 years and brings Mitch with him a year later.

  4. Leafs prospect pool is very weak , when they loose their top players they will drop like a stone
