  1. I can actually see Kane being dealt to leafs if Dubas is willing to pay the price. May cost like Kerfoot, Holl for cap reasons, a first rounder, second rounder and maybe one of our solid D prospects like niemela or Sandin for Kane at 50 percent retained. Never know.

  2. Sabres winning the cup before the Leafs is a no-brainer – as Leafs will never get past round #1 let alone challenge for the cup. I really like the young talent on the Sabres, so look out in 3-5 years.

  3. I don't think you'd want the off-season coverage the NFL has had to deal with this year hockey is still dealing with its version now

  4. it would make sense holl.. kerfoot.. sandin maybe and a first rounder why not dubas and shanny need to do something or they will be fired!!

  5. Probably the only way I’d trade Matthew Knies, but I’d think he’d be part of the deal

  6. Connor McDavid is never coming to Toronto. He wants nothing to do with that egotistical fanbase and media.

  7. Sandin, first round pick, second round pick and Roberson.. let's go!

  8. Ottawa Senators
    Justin Holl
(≈24%)1,250,000 of Kanes remaining Contract (5,250,000) (1 Year)

(TOR) 2024 5th round pick that turns into a 2024 4th if Ottawa misses the playoffs

    Chicago Blackhawks
    Jake Muzzin
    Matthew Knies
    Ty Voit
    (TOR) 2023 1st 3rd
    (50%) 5,250,000 of Kanes contract

(TOR) 2024 Conditional 1st if Kane scores over 100 points and Leafs make it to the ECF

    Toronto Maple Leafs
    Patty Kane (at 4M)

The worse Capitals or Senators 2024 2nd round pick

I originally had way more offered for Kane BUT I realized we only have to beat out 1-2 teams offers and we only get him for 1 year so I lessend the offer

  9. Playing Kane with Marner and Matthews defeats the purpose of getting Kane. Kane would give the Leafs a winger that could play first line minutes with Matthews freeing up Marner to play first line minutes with with Tavares. Bunting Kane Matthews and Marner Tavares someone (not named Nylander) would give the Leafs two first lines that could be played against anyone. Depending who plays with Kampf they could have three lines that could be played against anyone. Given how badly Keefe has been outcoached in the playoffs that could be huge. Can't get outcoached if it doesn't matter what the line matchups are.

  10. DREAM ON!! Kyle Dubus doesn't have the money or the prospects to trade for Patrick Kane!! If you were to trade for Kane where do you free up 10.5 million? Are you out of your mind thinking one the best hockey players is going to take a discount 92 points last year on the Hawks, what do you think this third team gets helping Toronto Kyle Davidson is not giving up the first round pick, i third team would like something back for helping Toronto they won't do it for free!! That would be the 3rd year in a row Toronto doesn't draft in the first round now that is how you get top prospects no wonder you can't do it!! Not to mention you are in need of a defenseman!! The only team Patrick Kane will take a team discount is with Ottawa to be with Alex Debrincat, he enjoyed playing with his fellow countrymen and Kane know they click!! He coundn't care about Austin Mathews when Kane can see Toronto can't get out of the first round chances are slim i'd say 1% to 5%!! Good Luck Toronto is sinking and sinking fast with that goaltending i think Kane see's that as well!! Dubus doesn't stand a chance you willing to give Kives, Robertson, next years 1st round draft pick, well there goes the top prospects and your going to need to free up cap space!! Dubas is finished he fired he 3 and an undersized defenseman your stupid choice to take an undersized forward and undersized defenseman in a trade with Ottawa(player from the Karlsson trade). Ottawa got 6'7 mammoth of a goalie Mads Sogarrd!! But the Leafs staying true to form drafting and drafting not once but twice undersized players!!

  11. Keep your eyes on Yzerman. Kane at trade deadline and Matthews when he's tired of being a Leaf

  12. The only thing that makes sense is trading Nylander and a prospect or two to get Kane. And before you freak out…consider the reasons. Kane is more likely to be a playoff impact player for the Leafs, as compared to Nylander – he won't be peeling off when heading into the corners. Either pairing him with Matthews and moving Marner back to play with Tavares, or leaving Matthews and Marner together and pairing Kane with Tavares, you get a legitimate 1-2 punch out of your top 6 forwards. I would leave leave Bunting and Marner where they are…that top line doesn't need anything to change.

The other reason I would trade Nylander for Kane is to give Matthews someone to look up to (I don't think he respects or looks up to Tavares). Not only would it make us stronger for this next year, but long term it is better for Matthews' progression – Nylander brings nothing to the table in this regard. Also, trying some silly maneuvers to keep both Nylander and Kane is not only unrealistic, but it would further worsen our forward heavy salary cap situation.

  13. Kane has a lot to say about where he ends up. If he wants to play with a contender in Toronto, play beside Matthews and be very close to his home city and family in Buffalo…who knows?

  14. They can’t even sign Sandin but sure they’ll trade for Kane. Wouldn’t surprise me if Sandin asked for a trade. Just like Matthews next year.
