Roy showed immense progress this past season. As much as he now ranks amongst Habs top 10 prospect – a massive improvement for a 5th round pick – his speed still is lacking at the next level.
I hope he will follow this progression rate on other aspects of his game so his floor from top 6 AHL player evolves into a solid top 6 for the Habs.

LHJMQ regular season has already started – glad they aren’t missing too much of the season.
Also hope they meet in the Q final 😉

The Habs are blocked at wing, there was no way he was making the team this year so sending him back to juniors was inevitable. He’s still developing, lots of potential with things to work on.

He’ll make the NHL out of his hockey sense alone, just not this year when we have so many prospects and he can slide back so easily in the Q. Guys like him find a way to be useful, as he has proven in the world junior last summer. But I’m not sure he’ll ever be more than a middle six who can provide offense. His skating and his way of slowing the game doesn’t jive that well with the pace of the modern NHL.

At best, maybe a (slightly?) better version of Dominik Kubalik?
Not the best skater, a bit passive, but can rip 20-25+ goals as an offensive middle 6 guy

Give the kid some time. He’s progressing well, and there is no need to rush results. He could take another 2 seasons before he touches NHL ice.
He was one of the best 4-5 forwards on the world Junior team, and he will be leaned on heavily for this next tournament. I would not be shocked to see him and Bedard on the first line.
