I agree Kemell could have been a better pick at 14 probably… But I am not a scout. Lambert definitely worth the risk! I mean I got no complaints 😆 Go jets go! ✈️
I wanted them to take Kemel too, but the Jets loke McGroarty for his character and leadership. He is also humble about his skating, recognises it as a weakness that needs to be focused on, and he has been working with arguably the best skating coach in the world in order to improve. The Jets don't have to rush this guy, so he has every chance to become a real star in the NHL.
MCGROARTY pick disappointed me at first but more I looked around the more I was fine with it. Some analytics guys had him ranked higher; a lot had him in 10-20 range; and many had him lower. I'm going to trust the Jets US scouting here – even though one of their best US scouts left at the end of the season I hope he was involved in this pick. He does put up points which is a big deal to me (to me offensive upside >>> everything else). Drai and Scheifele sucked at skating too and both turned out fine. I like the pick now – see him as an Andrew Ladd 2.0 type maybe (though think he has more high-end skill). I could literally be manipulated by his personality though lmao almost every piece on him talked about how likeable he is to the point of me being worried hes a salesman lol
LAMBERT – steal. May not pan out at all but if he does he could be electric. His highlights are ludicrous – even when he doesn't score its a show.
