Long time listener, and yes the Flames are vastly overlooked right now in talking points, at least you guys tried… even if it did end with Oilers talk as per fricken usual! All love I'm just salty that Eric Francis is our only voice in hockey, the dude that constantly said we need to trade Gaudreaut! Excited for Game Over Calgary!
For the Flames Fans in the comments, here's some things I'm excited about:
– Absolutely the best line in hockey right now, +/- stat has 3 players at the top, all 3 on this line! At least 2 if not all 3 you can typically find at the top of all the other stats.
– Ridiculous that Johnny is looked at by Hart voters as "in the conversation" but not likely. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS KID 5 vs 5!!!!!
– I too am worried about a repeat of 2019, however every metric shows we are a different and better team. I don't think we'll choke.
– Oilers have to get through LA most likely so perfectly conceivable that we will see a BOA in the 2nd round
– Nearly every single Flames player is having a career year!
– Markstrom is in the Vezina conversation, and with Igor it's unlikely, but still going into the playoffs with a solid team, and a Vezina candidate to boot!
If the Flames were in the Central Division they would be in 4th place.

I have a whole arguement against everyone for the Hart but since this is about the flames I just want to say. Gaudreau literally plays with two guys who each have 41 goals. Both of McDavids linemates, three even, of the guys he’s played with, do not have 40 POINTS. He is not playing with Draisiatl outside of the powerplay this year. There is massive 32 point gap between Gaudreau and Lindholm, the first and third leading Flames scorers. The gap between McDavid and their third scorer, is SEVENTY POINTS. 122, Drai(109) Hyman allllll the way down at 52. Once again, those two do not play together. That is an insane gap, between the top two and the third. These guys are elite, and are not even seemingly in the conversation for the Hart trophy. HOW. Lol I don’t care if either win it this year, they have enough individual awards. But I think it’s amazing that the hockey world has just brushed them aside as if being good every year means you’re not good anymore. Just cause it’s expected. That doesn’t make sense lol

Since 1989, the Flames have won only 5 playoff series. 3 of them were in 2004 and another was the Qualifying Round in the bubble. That’s why a lot of people are not on the Flames’ bandwagon
