Islander fans are frustrated because Lou fired a perfectly good coach and let go two defensemen over the last three years, Nick Leddy and Devon Toews, who could have helped the team.
Islanders did not "lose out" on Gaudreau…there never was a Gaudreau. For the third time in the past several years Lou got played(Tavares, Panarin, Gaudreau)…now whenever a high profile FA wants to drive up his market value, the move is to get the Islanders to start sniffing which forces the team where the FA wants to end up to raise their bid. The sad thing is it keeps working because Lou can not see through the deception. Looking forward to the Islanders first game against Columbus maybe Johnny will have an unfortunate collision with Ross Johnston.
Lou fires Trotz and does nothing to improve the forwards. I’ve been watching islanders since the seventies. I’m getting tired of the complete ridiculousness

Even if you didn't want JG, it's still a bad day. Once again the Isles can't sign a top free agent. It's awfully hard to build a good team through only trades and the draft
