I've lived in cole Harbor where sid and Nathan are from….I'll be cheering for Nathan too but I'm an oil fan #1 I'd like to see both McDavid and MacKinnon hoist lord Stanley at least once.
Mike Smith has done a great job at staying even keeled during the lengthy run he's been on….evident by his reaction to lucic hit and other attempts to get under his skin….Smith is focused like only a 40 year old can

Anyway, Smith just needs to keep playing the way he has been or better and they will truly have a great chance of getting through this round too. Kinda brings back memories of the Fuhr era of simply just scoring more goals than the other team. This new version of Gretzky/Kurri is more than capable.

The Avs defense is formidable….the offense and skating from Makar is hard to believe. The Oil have nothing even close from the d-corps.

It wasn’t a couple of extra days off and the series starts in Colorado Edmonton has amazing talent as does Colorado but I think smith is the problem

Oilers are playing better than Colorado right now. Draisaitl > Mackinnon. This is a great series!
More depth on Oilers, too. Makar and Kuemper have the potential to make it difficult.

Edmonton needs production from their depth to win this series . Colorado has a better defense than either of the 2 teams they’ve played in the playoffs so far and they’re gonna go out of their way to shutdown Mcdavid and Draisaitl and will probably succeed in a lot of cases . That’s when Edmonton will need scoring from their depth. Colorado has depth production and just won a series where their best players weren’t particularly productive . That’ll be the key to this series . Depth production and also goaltending .

In hindsight,funny to watch this. I agree with their analysis on the Calgary blueline-but a lot of it could be said bout Edmontons blueline.
Where you went wrong is,that wasnt the 1st time Gretsky,Messier,etc…got there. Like McDavid said it is a step process. And you get so far,& so close to the pinnacle,but then your weaknesses are exposed fully.(defense) Also,this isn't basketball where if you have the best 5 guys on any 1 team,(like Edmonton)-you will almost always win,not so in hockey-especially if none of the 5 are defensemen.
