  1. I know many Avs fans are against getting Toews or Kane due to the Kyle Beach ordeal. And I get it. I tend to agree. However, I don't truly know what their roles were. I can speculate. End of the day, I don't know that I want the Avs to give up much to get either player. If Sakic and Cmac think it's a good idea, I trust them.

  2. Avs fan, no thanks. Would rather start the year with newhook and compher. Or get other center

  3. Your options are like this you don’t say a thing about a player then he is traded to the redwings nd lol of. Sud this move was incredible and so smart – but not a word was mentioned before the trade so in realists you just saw the redwings trade and now the player is on your fav list –

People who know hockey talk about a player being good before he arrives at there fav team – I realise this is complicated and if you don’t follow oh well but obje timely if you only talk about players after they do something you are useless –

Wow the wombs signed him he’s the best player ever – wasn’t even a name I knew yesterday but today here’s my opinion. – that’s the difference and it’s objective

  4. AVS still have their first for next year that could be added trade bait maybe they wait till trade deadline and see what develops

  5. The problem with Toews is the understandable ego. He can't show up and expect to be the captain. If he is okay being 4th or 5th on the leadership chart then I think at 50% retained he would be great.

  6. Compfer, 3rd, conditional first (Toews his 60 points) for Toews 35%retained . "Friends opinion as a die hard Colorado fan"

  7. if toews is unable to resemble the toews of old, there's a scenario where toews stays in chicago throughout the season. i can easily see toews retiring at the end of the year instead of moving on to another team and being just another one of the guys. players of toews pedigree, that have his career accomplishments, that have the confidence or standards of toews, will not want to continue to play if they're unable to meet those expectations or unable to play up to their own standards. a lot of times, this player will just walk away and retire (just like keith did). and NO, the hawks would not trade toews for compher (even though jt is a local boy) 1 for 1 and retain 50% of toews' aav. the hawks are trying to acquire as many draft picks as they can stockpile over the next few seasons. in which case, i would assume the hawks are going to insist on draft capital in any potential toews or kane trade.

  8. I'm unsure why you think Mr Mackinnon needs the help of leading the Avs by trading Toews to them? If you don't mind me making a suggestion here how it goes:
P Kane: has 6.9 mil left on contract and 4 mill in Sign bonus, already paid out for 22-23. Leaving 2.9 mil in real cash. Lets suppose 4 equal payments of $725k per payment. The 10.5 is the Cap Hit/AAV, and if Chicago was willing to eat 50% of it, what's the going value on a year of Patrick Kane for 2.175 mil in real cash? Is it worth a first round? maybe a first and a second? maybe a first and prospects for a building Chicago franchise? Thanks C.Friendly.

  9. He might be fully recovered. But I think Pittsburgh is his destination. Silly for the Hawks not to trade Towes and Kane.they will walk. Be a great 3rd liner. Still would be good on the PP ,PK,face offs and shoot outs. And good shut down player. There 1st pick and a mid level prospect would probably be enough at this point. Yeah we have to eat something.

  10. as a lifelong Hawks fan, i thought if he ok'd a trade it would be to Winnipeg where he is from….

  11. I would rather do that:

    To MIN:
    – Jonathan Toews (50% ret)

    To CHI:
    – Matt Dumba
    – Steven Fogarty
    – Sam Hentges
    – 2023 R1 pick
    – 2024 R2 pick

  12. I don’t think you can include Hagel’s trade in the bunch that didn’t get enough value back. He got so much more than everyone thought he’d get. And everyone based DeBrincat’s potential return on Hagel’s too. Because in theory, better player, should yield more value than a good but not better player.

  13. Jonathan's favorite player was Joe Sakic(it's why he wears 19), so I'm sure he would love to play on this loaded Avalanche team, and the Avs can't go wrong for getting another player with big time playoff experience(look at Helm and Lehkonen). I'm sure Chicago wouldn't mind doing Jonathan a favor after all he's done for them, but the biggest reason that may keep them from going through with the trade is the simple fact that they are in the same division.

  14. if the Avs trade they need to trade for a solid center with term if they trade for Toews thats been declining the last two yrs there stupid
