Sweden Canucks lol
Great signing. Former 1st round pick
Turning into team Sweden.
Wouldn't be a bad idea, assuming he can progress enough to warrant an NHL stint, to grow under the wings of OEL.
Guy hasn’t developed at all, ahl depth at best most likely.
Swedish Wild fan here, super glad for Filip and kinda bummed that Wild didnt sign him since he has gotten better and better. But no they shouldn’t have picked him in the first. Maniac gm who got sacked soon after lol
babe, wake up, legorocks99 posted
Cool another 2 nd round pick for this year
Thought it said Canucks sign Fiala to two year contract. I'm like no, that can't be…
What a steal Johansson and Dermott new look Defense of core coming same class Has Hughes cheaper and better Best moved by team alvin next Forsberg
a low risk, high potential reward signing
No complains here.
Central Scouting had him at 10th?? 😂
guy was drafted in the same draft as Nils Lundkvist and higher hopefully he goes on to play like it as well for the Canucks 🙂
The Wild signed the better Johansson and got a 2nd round pick so we are good.
He was a 3rd round pick drafted in the 1st for absolutely no reason
If he can develop into a solid defensive dman, he could be our answer to the Hughes partner problem. I'm eager to see Huggy and Johnny together one day.
Why the 56th pick?..and who had the 56th pick before this?
A RHD prospect with no strings attached? I'm 100% ok with that.
7 points in 9 playoff games. Awesome, earned a chance
Great move. Clearly not a first round talent but has over 120 SHL games under his belt at just 22 years old. Offensive ability is going to probably cap him at a 3rd pairing guy but if he gets to even that level it's a huge W. Who knows maybe next season he finds a step in his offensive game.
Even if he doesn’t develop into a roster player, this signing is still good awareness by Allvin
Wild fan here. Happy to see the kid get a second shot. He by all accounts a good kid but was under a bunch of unnecessary pressure do to being over drafted. Then he had to deal with being called a bust. Now he gets to develop. I think he turns into a 3rd pairing guy.
The video indicates that NHL Central Scouting had him rated 10th overall. Nobody else had him higher than about 39th. Wow. What does that say about NHL Central Scouting?
A complete stretch by Fenton on draft day. You know your in trouble when the commentators have no video clips of the player on hand. I wish him the best and was hoping the Wild would have signed him but sometimes a change of scenery is good for a player while the Wild get a 56. It’s a Win/Win for both franchises, we nail the pick ( hopefully) and the kid makes the NHL.
Free pick, but not exactly anything to get over excited about. You never know though as sometimes young men figure out how to stop thinking and start doing. I hope he is a doer.
I wouldn't be surprised if this guy could've picked any team in the league to sign with. Great job GM Allvin and team.
Something tells me the Canucks plan to replace Jett Woo with this guy.
The bottom line is that the Canucks did not have pay any asset to acquire this prospect. If he develops into an NHLer, wonderful. If he becomes a serviceable minor leaguer, not bad either. The Canucks prospect cupboard has been essentially empty, so adding any prospects should be seen as a positive.
Canucks are one of the easiest teams to play against physically.
Allvin and Rutherford have a lot of work to do, but making the opposition pay for bullying y7our stars should be paramount.
Guys like Pettersson and Hughes really need insulation.
Honestly I'm surprised that this doesn't happen more often with prospects that look to be a bust. A late second rounder is pretty great compensation.
Allvin is definitly a better GM than Benny lol not even close that was easy at the same time… 🤭😅
No expectations. Decent depth prospect.
Hughes Johansson top line new look Defense of core next season what a picked up
great another Swede
