  1. Wonder if Halak had made a huge stop on that 6th goal, if it might have been enough to bring about a full comeback. Nevertheless, after that start you don't deserve a W — back-to-back or not. Gotta be tough to be a backup and see games so rarely and then have something like that happen when you finally get to play. Feels bad.

  2. I feel sorry for Jaroslav Halak when he had 5 goals scored against him in that first period – that would have put a major dent in his self confidence. Canucks did well to score 3 consecutive goals to bring it to a 5-3 score, but then conceded another goal in the third. Bruce Boudrea is going to have to examine what happened in that horror first period!

  3. Seen bad goaltending nights before but that one was nasty. 5 in the 1st, and Martin is right on his heels for that backup position

  4. Jesus Halak got shellacked tonight against a weak Islanders team…. Maybe his mind was more on how he was gonna spend that bonus 1.5 Million he got rather than the game…😂

  5. Nasty game! First period came close to work rejection. Back to back or not, you can't loose a game like this, if you have still ambitions to reach the postseason. Better decide where you want to go now. At least "Bruce there it is" time is over …

  6. As an Islanders fan was happy with TNT broadcast because of Brendan Burke, but why did Vancouver get a regional broadcast on a national game?

  7. Myers, Halak and Chiasson and a pick look like a tidy little trade package to me for a decent defenceman. Literally anything would be better than Myers who, even if he didn’t suck, won’t make it past this contract because Petersson and Podkolzin will need the cap space to re-sign. Martin is more than strong enough to back up Demko.

  8. Hockey Gods punishing Halak for some reason. What's he up to eh???

  9. The Canucks definitely were not ready for this game. Their defence was garbage. I know their missing Hughes, Poolman and Hamonic but it wasn’t just the young guys, Ekman-Larsson and Myers were crap too. Halak made a few good saves like the first 2 on 0 in the 1st and aside from maybe the first goal where he should have covered it they weren’t really his fault. Still I think the Canucks should’ve played Demko in this game and had Halak face the yotes. The stronger goalie should always face the stronger team in a back to back.

  10. First 3 goals were odd play bounces. 4th
Goal was a lost battle in front and a nice tip. 5th goal a barzal breakaway.

  11. Only goal Halak should have really had was the pass in front where he almost scooped it in himself. Rest of those were terrible luck!

  12. Canucks need to pull past 0.500. They've had some bad stuff like COVID happen to them but hopefully they can get over 500 and stay there for a bit.

  13. You gotta feel bad for Halak.. his season hasn't been great just bad bounces and luck.. Gotta take it one day at a time I'm sure he will bounceback

  14. Would have been an easy win with Demko in net, WTF was BRUCE THERE HE GOES thinking?

  15. Looking at the highlights from the Flames vs. Golden Knights and this game, I realized something. If you have more goals than the opponent team have shots on goal, you win.

  16. not trying to throw anyone only under the bus but miller and juulson pretty much combined gave 4-goals away off poor turnover back-checking. I think you'll see least one guy of the two playing less/benched the next game.

  17. Halak allowed 5 goals, 3 of which I count as ugly ones because he should’ve stopped those 3 shots for which I fault him for having let through.
