1. Well Well Well. The Caps scored well tonight. The Panthers need to wake up badly because even if they make it to the 2nd round, they aren't getting past Toronto or Tampa.

  2. I predict the Florida coach will be fired in the off-season for not adjusting the gameplan whatsoever. Congrats to Washington for outplaying the president's trophy winner for most periods this series. Ovechkin was a total beast – a really special player who really lead the charge. Barkov has his head down and is completely absent. I feel sorry for the fans who now cheer for a team without any draft picks and are probably going to lose several players next year.

  3. Damn florida may be frauds, ik this aint a perfect analogy but florida kind of reminds me of the old leafs on steroids, super good offense but defense can be rough. Notice how i said steroids the panthers are alot better than the old leafs maybe even the current leafs but id take the current leafs over the current panthers. That all could be leafs bias though.

  4. I have to disagree on Vanecek better than Sammy

Samsonov has the higher ceiling and his numbers in the postseason in 5 appearances are actually quite good

  5. Florida tried coasting through this series anticipating a tough next round vs Tampa or Toronto.

Florida taking a chill approach opened the door for the Caps and they kicked it down.

I hope the Caps keep it up and make this one interesting.

  6. I’m seeing three issues with Florida after this game.

    1. Weegar is a trash defenseman and a turnover machine. He shouldn’t be a top pairing. I’d pair Gustav Forsling or Ben Chiarot with Aaron Ekblad.

    2. Barkov isn’t a captain. You can see his head down and his body language. Everyone’s looking to you Barkov, act like a captain.

    3. Andrew Brunette seems like he’s trying to learn playoff coaching on the fly. He’s been pretty bad at in game adjustments and the fact that he hasn’t either moved Weegar down the line up or flat out benched him is beyond me. See reason 1 above.

  7. I know the Leafs are the Leafs and people will talk more shit about them but to say the Leafs are hopeless because of their previous (lack of) playoff success but the Panthers are locks for the finals? What have they done? I didn't get it and I still don't.

  8. Panthers issues all season have been the same thing. Caps haven’t exposed anything new, they have just taken advantage of what’s always been there.
    Weegar
    Power plays
    Penalties
    Slow adjustments

  9. I'm terribly disappointed in Florida. To play so good in the regular season, only to make it to the playoffs, to play like this? Well, it looks like the Caps will make it to Round 2 soon enough, because it seems the Florida Panthers is not as good as I believed the team to be.

  10. Also, coach Ryan D, you know I watch your videos, you're the best Hockey channel on YouTube. No question.

  11. The basic fact for like 5 years now is that if the Caps are forechecking their asses off and clogging up the middle, they’re very very hard to beat. They give you nothing.

  12. Praying the Caps win this series. Any team that leaves Ovechkin open like that doesn’t deserve to win anything lmao

  13. Great analysis. As a beer league player, it's great to see your breakdowns of plays and analysis. Your analysis of that Caps power play was spot on, even when the Panthers had the numbers, the Caps will still won the puck battle and resulted in a goal. As Melrose would say, will beats skill every time.

  14. I've NEVER seen a team try andcherry pick anywhere near the amount of times the Panthers did in this game. It was clearly in their game plan. Almost every time there's a 5050 puck on the halfboards one of their forwards began leaving the zone. It's mind-boggling.

  15. Reason NHL playoffs are the best. No team is ever too bad to go the distance. NBA, ZZZZZzzzzzZzzz
