He already shook off the summer rust after the first period, so I’d like to think it’s just more beneficial for him to rest than to play games.
There isn’t really a need to rush him back into the lineup if he isn’t 100%. We aren’t going anywhere this season, and we actually have some decent centre depth for a change. Dvorak, Monahan, Dach and Evans can fill in fine for a few games if necessary.
