Very disappointing loss for the b's but that was standard practice against Montreal until 88. Bruins really looked like the better team here just couldn't finish the job and had a weak goalie who let in a terrible winning goal.
I remember in '84 the Canadiens with Penney in goal went all the way to the conference finals against the Islanders, who if they'd won the cup would tie the Canadiens for most consecutive cups at 5. The Canadiens went up 2-0 and I was so excited as a 12 year old super fan lol…only to be crushed by 4 loses in a row. What a time though…awesome hockey.
I am crying,, you tube had this whole game on here at one point. I was at this game with my buddy back then and CBC had a close up of both of us when we scored … I can't believe I can't find it now.. they don't even show the game winning goal here.
Yes, a close game….. but it's Boston's fault for allowing almost a four-on-one break for the Habs with about a minute to go…. and Naslund put it in the net. It wasn't Keans fault — his team did not defend at that point…. and THAT was the difference. Where was Bourque when that moment happened? Was he 'caught' too deep in the offense zone? It seems so… at least at that one point.
At 6:06 there is #23 of the Bruins who gives a big slash and then an elbow, nothing is called. And then at 6:57, he's interfering with the player before the faceoff. The reffing is a joke here.
Does anyone have game four of this Adams Div semi final? A wild game Montreal up 4 – 1 at the end of the first period. Ken Linesman scored a hat trick and Boston won 7 – 6.
This was the worst Bruin's team between 1968-1997. THey barely finished above .500. They actually played really tough in this series. The year prior they were a much better team and got swept my Montreal.

Fuck that Asshole Harry Sinden. He cost the Bruins a cup when he fired Cherry.

And also GFY mike oconnel. Bad defenceman… absolutely brutal gm
Just imagine how the faceoff at 6:55 would look in today's NHL (2018)! lol..it would have taken forever to drop that puck!!!

Not as painful as “too many men on the ice”, but no picnic, either….
Jesus – the Habs gave the B’s nightmares for decades…

smith is in crease wth?
Doug Keans was a better goalie than many give him credit for – he had a good season that year. He was just unlucky on that Naslund shot, that's all
Bob Cole voice. Legendary
Swinging that stick.. should have earned him a game misconduct!

And now at le Centre Bell they wont allow that guy in with his trumpet
Never seen Lemaire so animated
I know it's old and all but I've never seen a scoreboard where the timer blinks, unique to say the least.
3:53 Stupid blind back pass………….
I still have Steve Penny nightmares
