  1. I'll admit I was one of the people very upset with this hiring, but I've gotten over my anger and I'm ready to give it a chance and see how it goes.

  2. What would you think about Carolina as a possible trade destination for Wheeler? I think he'd get along well with Rod Brind'Amour. They have a lot of assets and it may present an opportunity for deal involving a few pieces.

  3. He is a good coach…just get ready for some boring hockey. I'm not sure his style fits the Jets personel…but no question they need to get better defensively. Love to be a fly on the wall, when he tells Scheflie he's gotta actually try to play both ends,& become a more team player…not just seek out individual stats. But Bowness is definitely good at getting more out of his talent.

This Dallas team shouldn't have made the playoffs, talentwise. They had 1 great line,a great young goalie,& couple good dmen-but not much else-except experience. They made the playoffs, with a negative goal differential,& almost beat Calgary-despite being badly outplayed/out talented-they certainly overachieved.

And he did great vs my Avs in the bubble. But let's set the record straight a bit. I've heard a few people acting like he pulled a miracle on ice like upset over Colorado in 2020. We were a heavy favorite-going into that series. But by the time we lost 5 or 6 regular skaters…EJ,Landeskog,Bellmar,Calvert…almost our entire #1 PK…it wasn't near as big of talent gap. They KILLED us on the PP. Then we also lost Grubauer…Francouz tried to gut it out,(mainly cuz we were petrified to have to play our bad #3 goalie)-but just was too injured. Had hip surgery that offseason.

Dallas was the more experienced team,& deserved credit. But by the time we had to play Michael Hutchinson in net-games 5-7,we shouldn't even have been favored. Getting to OT of game 7,with Hutchinson,& all the injuries-actually was major overachievement,in the end. That's not Dallas fault, but had they blown that 3-1 series lead,to Hutchinson,& like 1/4 of the Colorado Eagles…that would have been pretty inexcusable actually. Also on neutral ice…cuz of the pandemic…not home ice,all higher seeds gave up cuz of the bubble.

I know it's water under the bridge,& Dallas/Bowness had nothing to apologize for…not their fault we got injuries…anymore than it's this years Avs fault that St Louis,Edmonton,& TB were more beat up than us.(not to the same extreme level though-none of them had to play a below average #3 goalie)And they did pull a pretty big,& impressive upset on Vegas,& gave Tampa a series…but Colorado-Dallas series wasn't the major upset or Av underachievement that some act like. In 2021 vs Vegas-we underachieved…but not in the 2020 bubble.

  4. The Hammer in fine form for a Monday. Great way to start the week boys!
Speaking of boys, can you get Sara or Emily Kaplan or someone on the show to speak about the female hires in hockey? Dr. Wickenheiser just got promoted to AGM in Toronto and a female coach in the A!
